Played an early morning Saturday round, slightly delayed by frost. After an easy 65 minute drive from Scottsdale... WR did not disappoint. This is similar to Quintero, however with houses overlooking some holes.

Great dessert views and impeccable conditions, from fairways to greens. From our initial check in to verify our "Troon membership.. making this affordable" to the pristine practice area to the greeting by "Waco... the starter", this was a first class must play course.

The remote nature is part of the lore and draw. This is in the top five in my opinion of all the courses in the Greater Phoenix area. If you come out plan on staying for a meal outside overlooking the course, or beside one of their fire pits or other venues.

Finished in 4.5 hours with the Marshall frequently seen on the course keeping an eye on pace of play.

A friend and I played the Par 3 course there and had a great time. It was crowded but Frank got us out quickly and we passed a group on the course. Played 9 holes in an hour walking. Probably the best par 3 course I’ve ever played. It was a bit pricey ($25) for 9 holes yet worth it. Nice area to relax and have a drink afterwards.

Played here with a group of 20 in February 2020. It is in the middle of nowhere, but it as a very interesting layout and a great course to play. The par 3 course was an added bonus and has some great views and interesting shots.
The 14th hole with the water running down the entire left side was the most memorable of the course.
We paid about $210 for a round here, which is much better priced than many other courses around the Phoenix area for what you get.
The food at the restaurant was also very good. I ordered the sliders before we went out and they were the best sliders I've had.

I would definitely want to play this course again.

We had a golf group head out here about 4 weeks ago and we were really excited about the course. The experience was spoiled by the pro shop experience. We went next store to the bar to purchase champagne for the final par 3 experience (we like wine) and got accused of bringing drinks on the course when walking from the bar through the clubhouse. I explained I would show him my receipt and I was next door, but he didn’t care. He then further accused my friend in the cart for bringing alcohol on site, which he had bought earlier and offered to provide a receipt. Twice accused. No apology, just smug - we would have spent a lot of money in the pro shop but we were too offended. Also, 2 people cancelled due to potential Covid 19 and there were zero refunds. I wrote to our booking agent and they didn’t even ask to reach out and speak upon my request. This course costs a good chunk of change, and it was well over an hour to get from PHX. I’m disappointed in the club and would recommend taking your money somewhere that can provide a better experience - and not be accusatory. I’m happy to discuss further and can direct message me on FB to set up a call to discuss more.

While the course was excellent the overall experience was average. Our group travels to AZ every year for a week of golf. We are respectful and appreciative and try our best to represent ourselves as such. In general we didn’t feel very welcome at Wickenburg. The starter told us the residents want to go completely private but they don’t yet have enough members. And we could feel it. We were hoping to play Big Wick, have a beer, and try Lil Wick as is advertised. When we inquired about it we were told “we’ll that might be ok but in all honesty the residents hang out there for cocktails and don’t really like outsiders “. Direct quote. Considering it’s an hour and a half drive from home base in Scottsdale we won’t be going back. I’m sure the residents won’t mind. We have had wonderful experiences in Scottsdale and found the residents to be warm and welcoming and we try hard to be the same and respect their home.

...of this large Trilogy community about 5 miles north of town. After you pass the attractive western-themed great room you proceed through a bar area that is VERY busy (understaffed?) in the afternoon. Past the bar is seating for meals. Weather permitting, sit outside to one of the large comfortable wicker chair groups and enjoy the relative quiet and the view

We play Wickenburg with our Troon 2 for 1 every year at least once. The course is always in great shape. Pace of play was a bit slow (we could have used a Marshall at some point however it was a great day. We had dinner at the main restaurant which was good. Our service was very good

Don't play this course unless you plan on playing a 6 hour round. Gets very backed up on the back 9 and there are no marshals in sight. Called the head pro and he claimed the course was on pace. How could he have known it was on pace when him nor his staff were there. There was a 3 hole gap between the lead group and 18 green. The pro shop was closed and the only staff that were present were the golf cart staff. Its too bad for such a nice course to have such a bad reputation of slow play. The pace of play disclaimer on their website is a joke.

My wife and I have been looking for a Private Club to become Golf Members. We decided to visit Wickenburg Golf Resort to play it and have a look see. Have heard many good things about this newly developed Golf Course, so last Sat, up we went.
There is a temporary Club House, while the building of a new one is in the works.
Beautiful Course, very well manicured, with many Elevated Tee Boxes and also plenty of Water. My wife and I are both in our Late Senior years, but both of us can usually handle any White Tee Boxes. The 1st 8 holes were very excellent challenges for the both of us. But when we hit the Number 9 Hole and thereafter all the way through Number 18. Neither of us were able to carry the Waste areas in front of their Tee Boxes, so we just moved to the forward Tee's Well my Wife still couldn't carry some of them. She did not needless to say. enjoy the rest of the course.

I often wonder why the developers of new High profile Golf Resorts feel it necessary to design their Courses for Low to Mid Handicappers. They seem to forget there are Recreation Golfers out there that enjoy the game as well and what about our Youngsters who are just learning the Game?. When they make these Courses too difficult for ALL to enjoy it just takes away from a good Golfing experience. I have recently read many articles in our Golf Magazines where the numbers of Golfers continue to decline, no wonder, when they design Golf Courses this difficult it takes all the fun out of the experience. If you are a once a week Golfer or High Handicapper I suggest you try another venue other than this one. I know we have crossed out Wickenburg Ranch for membership consideration
