Beautiful views, close to Phoenix, easy to find. Easy trail for kids and families. Great SxS riding nearby and dry camping.

This was a very nice trail for the whole family. We chose a shorter hike with the family because of the weather, but went further on a different day. I recommend a walking stick. Watch out for the fuzzy cactus know as "throwing" cactus. The little balls have barbs at the end and are painful and difficult to remove.

This was the second hike my boyfriend and I took with our dogs on our trip to Arizona, and it was a lot more challenging than the first! In fact, we didn't make it all the way to the top, and after reading some of the rest of the reviews, I'm not sure we would have been able to if... More

It was a great hike. Challenging but glad we did it. Went all the way up through the saddle. Would not recommend for children or inexperienced hikers.

We hiked the Vulture Peak Trail on a rainy, overcast day in January 2016. I am so glad we did not back out due to the weather. This is one of the great hikes in the Phoenix Valley! It is plenty challenging, particularly when you summit the peak but it is worth every bit of the effort. Even when we... More

This one has fast elevation gain after a gentle approach. Switchbacks to the saddle, last 300 ft you will be scrambling with your hands and feet to the top. Terrific 360 degree views.

Whether it's hiking along the desert floor through the cacti or scaling the switchbacks on the way up, this is a great hike. The views on the way up and when you reach the saddle are fantastic. It is challenging however, and I would definitely bring a lunch to enjoy at the top.

Just what I was looking for in a challenging hike. Always be prepared for the elements. I experienced this trail in the middle of July, so be smart. Loved it! Was quiet & peaceful. Know your limits & ability. The trail can be easy or difficult

Great trip & on our way to visit friends in Tubac. We did not hike the trail, but drove & hiked on our way through the Sonoran desert to the Sonoran Desert Monument. Beautiful views with no one for miles & miles.
