The hikes are very easy and shady. Although they follow the river, it was quite dry during our visit. They offer hiking sticks and binoculars for use during the hikes. We didn't see any wildlife and very few birds, but it was super hot and mid-day when we went.

Really peaceful. Saw a bull and his lady. I'm sure they had jumped the fence and were there "illegally", but they added some color to the experience. Lots and lots of melodic and beautiful birds. Rabbits and I also saw a little grey fox.

A short drive from downtown Wickenburg and a great place to see the desert plants and the river. Open year around and a great place to walk off the big meals in Wickenburg.

Fun to walk around and see different flora and fauna. We especially enjoyed watching the many birds in the area.

Maybe it was just the day or time of year, but saw very little in the way of wildlife on this day. Certainly there was a variety of plant life here, an oasis in this desert area, but saw only wandering cows for animal life on this day.

A very interesting collection of desert plants in a park-like setting. You can observe the riparian action of the Hassayampa River, which is quite unique..

The Hassayampa River Preserve is a wonderfully quiet, rustic, and natural 'park' with trails and an interpretive center. The river is more like a creek right there, as it runs partially underground. During monsoon season it can become a rushing torrent very quickly. Rain water in the desert runs off rather than soaking in, as one might expect, because the... More

We try to get here at least once a year. The trails are lovely and easy---wonderful wildlife and bird sightings, a very special place.

This river valley full of cottonwood and mesquite trees was an interesting counterpoint to the surrounding desert landscape. Quiet and peaceful, the trail were relatively easy walking, though most are not wheelchair accessible.
