Enjoyed walking the trails and identifying the various birds that were in the area. Shady areas where you can sit and enjoy yourself.

We spent the morning at the Hassayampa preserve exploring the trails. Wildlife sightings are pretty common here. We saw lizards and quite a few birds including multiple Vermillion Flycatchers and Phainopeplas which are both common here. There are also feeders in front of the house...More

We were lucky that it was only in the 80s the day we chose to hike through the preserve. Still very hot in the sunny stretches, overall a good percentage of the trails are shaded. Most of the trails are flat but can be sandy...More

I enjoyed going, but the day I was there it was 96 degrees. I simply did not have the energy to walk all the trails. Both the river and the lake were a bit of a disappointment, but I admit, it might have been better...More

Easy, well managed trails. A great experience with several choices of trails, a couple round the lake. Recommended.

In front of the building you walk in to purchase tickets are hummingbird feeders that are just a hoot to watch and a photographers dream to catch. They have a board where they record when and what animal was seen. About three trails. All an...More

Great place for easy trails and "Target rich" environment for birding. Can get hot so go early especially between mid April and October. I suggest weekdays, looks like it gets busy on weekends.

Since we were there last, this Preserve has joined the Maricopa County Park system. There have been a lot of nice upgrades to the trails which make this park even more enjoyable than it has been in the past.

This is a cool place for easy hiking in the Wickenburg area. A lot of different things to see which may seem very unlikely in the desert. Great place for those who don’t like to hike seriously, and can be enjoyable to the real joker...More
