Very pretty lake, nice and quiet. Getting to the lake was much longer than we expected. Windy washboard dirt roads. We were told maybe within 2 years it will be paved. Lake was wonderful though.

South of Tortilla Flats - Apache Lake is one of four reservoirs built along the Salt River - lots of camping areas - several boating ramps - very boat friendly area ! Worth a stop if your passing through !

If you take the Historic Apache Trail scenic drive along route 88 from Apache Junction to the Teddy Roosevelt Dam, you will see this lake along the way. The views are quite stunning and well worth your time to see.

The drive out there was a bit white-knuckled as the one-lane dirt road is very twisty and turny. In my opinion, the drive on that road should be experienced. Beautiful scenery. Mountains and vistas are breathtaking!

Great lake. Nice for a swim in a hot summer day. The drive is rough but is totally worth it. Good fishing also.

A great place to spend a warm day in the summer! No wonder people come up here. Chilling out with nature! Beautiful scenery all around!

There is a lot of shore line to stop and rest, have lunch, etc. We started out at the Marina. I will look to see if I have pictures that show any of the shore and post them.

I did not swim. I used a kayak. No pass needed. I am sure you can swim but I do not remember seeing a beach.
