We absolutely loved our time spent at Orbita. My husband and I set aside two weeks of our travels throughout Guatemala and Honduras to improve our Spanish speaking skills in Lake Atitlan and we’re so glad we did. We scoped out schools online before we showed up and chose Orbita based on it’s well-rounded online reviews. Our language skillset was limited - based on a couple years of on and off learning via the app Duolingo. We were nervous upon our arrival but the moment we sat down with Rene, it already felt like we had been there for weeks. He got us each set up with a teacher and our appropriate course level based on a few questions. We both loved our teachers - Suzan and Vicenta. Although we didn’t take part in all activities due to our remote work schedule, we really enjoyed the ones we did - painting class, participating in a traditional Mayan healing ceremony, a hike to Indian Nose and a visit to the local chocolate factory. All were great opportunities to practise what we were learning and get to know other students better. This is in addition to the consistent Spanish conversation that we used in our homestay with the Cortez family. Our host ‘brother & sister’, Edwin and Mary are also both teachers at the school and were so great at helping us with homework and giving us little tips and tricks along the way. We were always well fed and well looked after by the entire family and felt very welcomed and comfortable. It was amazing to see how much we had improved by the end of our time at the school. We loved every single thing about our experience and can’t even pick anything that could be improved. We highly recommend Orbita and hope some day we can either continue our education with them online or by coming back to visit!…

I absolutely loved studying at Orbita and learned so much Spanish. My teacher, Cheyo, was patient and helpful. As a teacher myself, I was so impressed with the organised curriculum and professionalism and expertise of the teachers.

We stayed a week at Orbita Spanish school in San Pedro La Laguna. We rented the studio in the school. It was a good choice: the friendly atmosphere, good teachers, professional methode, nice activities with the school (Spanish movie, salsa workshop, visit to chocolate and honey cooperativas), great view over the lake while improving your Spanish! We thank René and his team for this unforgettable week at Lago Atitlan.…

My experience with Orbita surprised me in so many positive ways - I spent 5 weeks at the school and with my lovely host family and I could have stayed there for way longer! There is a very special atmosphere at the school and you really feel like a part of a community. The owners, Milca and Rene, are always smiling and they know your name from day 1. The teachers are the same: positive, smiling and really engaged in YOUR learning. Furthermore there are exciting activities every week that you can join, there is a lot that you see and do in San Pedro in your free time and of course the stunning view of the lake from your "classroom" is worth to mention! I improved my Spanish a lot during these weeks and I would love to come back one day!…

I highly recommend Orbita. I’ve studied at several different Spanish schools and Orbita surpasses them all. The curriculum is unique and effective, the view is amazing (outdoor classes overlooking the lake/mountains), snacks and coffee at break time provided, an overall friendly and very welcoming vibe, 1:1 classes with a lot of back and forth conversation, after school activities (salsa classes, movies, tours, etc) and my teacher, Roxana was really, really GREAT (patient, smart, could add English words when necessary, etc.) Also, my homestay family was really nice and the food was delicious. Thanks again, Orbita. Maybe I’ll be back again soon.…
