Ixiim cooking school was one of the COOLEST experiences I had at Lake Atitlan. Not only did I leave with a smile and full belly, I learned about local food and Mayan culture. Angela is nice, welcoming and knowledgeable, and it is all hands on which makes it fun. I would HIGHLY recommend doing this in Guatemala without a doubt. It's the best kept secret and can be done with friends or the one you love or solo.

Me and my fiancé took the class in the morning and really enjoyed it. You make tortillas, beet salad, chicken broth, banana dessert and rose water. The whole experience was amazing but the only point is that it is very expensive ($30 more than easily)

Had an amazing workshop at Ixiim Cooking School. The owner, Angela, is such a wonderfull and warm woman and the ladies working with her are the best. They teach you everything about Mayan culture and all the cooking will be done like they Mayans do. It is hard work, but it makes the food taste even better! We had an amazing experience and on our next trip we will definitely be back here.

We were with some friends in Ixiim Cooking School and it was one of the best decisions we made in our trip. We really discovered real Guatemalan culture and how to cook local food! The rellenitos we made were delicious, we will for sure cook them at home. We recommend also 100% the gastronomic tour where you can mix yourself with locals, buy the food you'll cook and speak with locals. From Panajachel you can also visit the nearby towns around lake Atitlan, we received wonderful tips in the school. I would recommend the Ixiim Cooking School to whoever goes to Panajachel. Thanks Angela!!!

Me and my gf did the Class and was awesome, was a great option as we are vegetarians and they have that option on the course, we love the part of doing the tortillas from scratch. We loved the rellenitos, I am still preparing them at home at least once every 2 weeks. Excellent location and professors with great attitude. Definitely I Will recommend this cooking School!
