Totally worth the 3am start time! The view is absolutely breathtaking as the sun rises over the volcanoes and Lake Atitlan. A private boat collected me at the dock in Santa Cruz and ferried me to Pana where my guide Humberto was waiting. The drive to the starting point of the hike winds up and around the mountains and takes about 1.5 hours. The track to reach the summit of Indian Nose is easy to navigate for all fitness levels with a few steep sections towards top. Humberto brought walking sticks and flashlights, and gave me a thermos of hot coffee while I watched the sunrise. Highly recommend.

I sadly only had one day to experience Lake Atitlan due to time constraints so reached out to Los Elementos for advise and ideas. From my first point of contact they were extremely helpful and create a unique itinerary to suit my interests and requests. I had a fantastic day that started with a transfer from Antigua, a ride on a chicken bus, a visit to the sacred Mayan caves, a visit to San Juan where I learned about chocolate, maya honey, local weaving and local Maya honey, along with a boat road on the lake and a return to Antigua. I had an incredible day and would highly recommend to anyone looking to pack as much as possible into one day. Would have loved to stay and explore longer!

Lee was really helpful. My son and I wanted to summit volcán Atitlan, Santa Maria and Tajumulco, but we only had few days and we couldn’t align our Tajumulco tour with the fixed days of Quetzaltrekkers departures. Also we wanted to do all three volcanoes as one day tours with no tenting on the mountains. We succeeded, we even got to the top of Tajumulco at the same time as the bigger group who started one day earlier. All three summit tours were private tours, only my son, me and our guide, no big group with unfit persons who slows everybody down. And also, in between we went on a birdwatching tour where we saw the Quetzal bird. So if you need great and flexible service, contact Lee.

We had a couple of friends recommend Los Elementos and Kayak Guatemala. They did not undersell us. We are so thankful and had a wonderful time.
Alex, our guide for the two days of tours, was wonderful with me the middle aged mom who wasn't super speedy to our teenage son who was exploring his country and culture. He was great with everyone we met..
Kayaking was fun and we felt safe yet a bit adventurous.
Our favorite activity was visiting 4 villages around Lake Atitlan. Seeing the differences and the communalities and learning more about Guatemala along the way.
The setting was amazing! Lee was helpful to us in so many ways. Highly recommend.

We had an excellent private tour with Alex to San Juan La Laguna on Lake Atitlan. The tour on a Tuesday was arranged on the Sunday afternoon before via Whatsapp. We had a payment link by Monday morning. And the information that Alex our guide would actually meet us at our hotel in Panajachel (an added bonus, since we thought we would be meeting the guide in San Juan) was provided by Monday afternoon. Our interest was in exploring Maya culture. Alex was Mayan himself and was a fund of information as we explored San Juan extensively. We could not have been happier with our experience overall and had Alex to thank for it.

We needed a customized tour on our first day due to limited time and energy and Los Elementos "delivered". They just kept telling us "you need to see San Juan" (it wasn't even on my radar" and they were so right! We loved the boat/ferry on Lake Atitlan to and from Panajachel to San Juan and "always smiling" Fernando made our visit to San Juan memorable and put us at ease. The shopping was awesome (cooperatives were my favorite) and the streets were charming and quaint. Will definitely be back!

We stayed in one of the houses they offered and I can’t say enough great things about the owners or the location. To start, the location is perfectly located in Santa Cruz; you have access to beautiful views, hikes, lake activities and relaxation. Both Lee and Elaine were extremely helpful and accommodating. When I return to the lake I will absolutely stay here again.

Kayaking on Lake Atitlan with Marcelino was so fun! He picked me up at the hotel and we took the community boat to the Adventure Center. Once there, we collected nice kayaks and life jackets for our 90 minute kayak around the lake. Along the way, I learned quite a bit about the Atitlan lake region. I'd highly recommend this activity.

On another day, my daughter and I hiked for the morning with Marce. They continued after dropping me off at the community boat. Another great experience.

The tour was extraordinaire. We saw Guatemalans performing ritual ceremonies, learned about the history and were able to create our own experience. Our guide Lee was generous with his time, knowledgable about Guatemalan history and patient during the hike. Exciting experience.

We were fortunate to bump into Lee at the supermercado in Pana on our trip to Lake Atitlan in May of 2019. This year, I contacted him about a tour to Iximchee. His arrangements were perfect. We were picked up and returned to our place near San Lucas Tolimon. Our driver, Santos, was excellent. Between his limited English and my limited Spanish, we had a really fun trip. Our guide at the ruins, Balam, was superb. His English was perfect and his knowledge of the Mayan history and culture was outstanding and he was very acommodating of all our questions. If you want the best, choose Los Elementos!!
