Manuel Antonio or Dominical? (2 Replies)
We have 8 nights in Costa Rica beginning June 8 with two grandsons 9 and 12. We all love nature, hiking, and swimming. We have reserved a full week in Manuel Antonio and planned to do tours from there. I think the spot we have reserved is very nice (La Posada Jungle Hotel) but recently became worried it will be very crowded in that area. One of our day tours will be to Hacienda Baru Reserve near Dominical and now I wonder should we just base ourselves there for the week rather than Manuel...More

I would not want a whole week in MA. Split in two locations. It is not that much packing, moving, unpacking for 1 week. I would start with a destination farther from the airport. Dominical is mostly for surfing.

Well if you leave the rental car spot at 10:30 you have a 4 hour drive in front of you. Stopping in Orotina, Tarcoles and a lunch break puts you into Dominical around 4 PM. Forget about that hike at Hacienda Baru or save it for another day. You would be better off hiking there in the early morning rather than mid-afternoon as the animals are more active early morning and at dusk.

Trip Report Pt2- Solo female traveller- Uvita (10 Replies)
I spent 4 nights in Uvita. The biggest problem I had was arranging for transportation from Sierpe to my hotel in Uvita, which was Tikivillas. I did rent a car for my time in Uvita, initially from Vamos, and my original plan as to have them deliver the car to Sierpe and I would pick it up there. I contacted a number of companies and Vamos had the lowest quote. However when I asked Vamos to deliver the car to Sierpe they responded and said they would deliver it to my hotel. So because it was...More
