This was my favorite snorkel location in the world. We easily saw fish, sharks, dolphins, eels, and sea turtles on a beautiful, sunny day. The water is shallow and clear, and Micheal helped us to find all the wildlife. The snack of fruit and the lunch were both fresh, delicious, and vegetarian friendly. We would 10/10 recommend this trip to anyone visiting Dominical. Just make sure you book in advance, as we had a hard time going the next day (but they made it work!). Only a certain number of people are allowed to visit Cano Island everyday.

As a former dive shop owner and operator in Bermuda, I was pleased with this shop and staff. They did not ask to see my C card, but I thought they asked all other right questions. They are organized and friendly, and they work well as a team and with their guests. I don’t know if our trip was on a day with extreme sea conditions for that area, but I knew there were good sized swells running. Boarding and exiting the boat from shore were quite an experience and not for the faint of heart. Short of building a pier (which is prohibited in the country), I don’t know of any suggestions for improvement. Just be prepared for less than a piece of cake entry and exit, if the surf is active. Fortunately, the staff is expert at keeping everyone safe. I shout out an FYI, for those connoisseurs of lavish cuisine. Lunch was fruit and cookies, with juice or water. It was delicious—fresh pineapple and watermelon with fabulous ginger lemonade and a small package of yummy cookies. It was not, however, lunch. Annie and I were starving when we returned. Annie is a snorkeler, and I am a diver. Annie was treated kindly and loved the trip. I, also, was treated kindly and loved the trip. At 73, I knew I would have difficulty that others would not, but I had no idea just how much I would have to rely on this amazing and professional staff. My balance, flexibility, and attention to detail are not what they once were. I consider myself an excellent diver, (hundreds of dives behind me), but my skills above water lacked much to be desired. Mauricio, my guide, was patient and professional beyond belief with my clumsiness, awkwardness and stupidity. I will remember him above all when I think of my trip to lovely Costa Rica. The dives were a little less than I expected. Visibility and corals were only average, but the sea life was lovely, including turtles, rays, sharks, eels, parrotfish, angelfish, and many more. I highly recommend this dive shop to beginning as well as seasoned divers. If Mauricio will have me back, I would dive again with him in a New York minute😀

I was slightly anxious about diving as I hadn't done so for a while. I told Michael this and he reassured me that I'd be ok. The crew on the day looked out for me and I had a brilliant time. We did 2 dives from Cano Island and saw some manta rays up close which was amazing. Everything was clearly explained, very respectful of the environment and importantly the lunch and snacks were delicious. Thanks for a great day!

This was hands down the best dive I have done to date. Costa Rica Dive and Surf has wonderful crew members who are very helpful, knowledgeable, professional but still fun. Their system for getting everyone ready to head out on the boat and for getting everyone into the water is very efficient. I think it's nice they prepare all of the tanks and BCDs for you. We had awesome conditions for our dive, great visibility and calm conditions. So many different varieties of fish, turtles, a huge manta ray and lots of white tipped reef sharks. I felt very safe and comfortable in our dive spots. Great lunch on the way back and dolphin and sailfish sightings during the ride. I highly recommend a dive at Cano Island with this shop! I came back 2 days later for another dive.

Impressed by the organization and operations. Although the boat is not really designed as a true dive boat, the staff make it work.....setting up gear and changing tanks is all very seamless. Very friendly and interactive staff on board and do a nice job of showing you the various fish and critters on the dive site. The trip out to Cano was not as boring as I thought.....fast boat ,nice scenery and lots of dolphins. Highly recommend
