A fun day. There's lots to keep little ones (and adults) busy. The venue isn't huge but there's alot packed into the area. Compared to Legoland in CA this one was better. Newer and organized. The only thing I'd mention is the washrooms could use a little more tlc.

The Legoland Experience and Sea Life are located inside the Arizona Mills Mall. The place was packed—spring break for us and some Phoenix schools.
Overall, we really enjoyed it. Two rides: one with a shooter and scoring points—a mini and less sophisticated version of Disney’s Toy Story Mania; and the other was a classic spin around. The wait for each ride was a solid 25 minutes despite the deceptively looking short lines. This was just like Legoland San Diego.
We bought our tickets online and got both Legoland and Sea Life for $29.95. When we arrived we had to stand in line for a timed-entry. It took 15 minutes. They led up into a room with colored dots on the floor, there was +/- 5-minute video with an overview (think waiting for the doors to open on Star Tours). They attempt to have you pose for picture and buy it. We skipped that.
The doors opened and we entered a circular room with 4 huge screens with 5 controls facing the windows. There was a 5-minute experience of creating various characters and faces using your controls. Different doors opened, and then into the “factory”. From arrival to actually walking into the factory took 30 minutes. I think this was an unusually busy time so took much longer than normal.
We saw miniland, did both rides, did one of the 4D shows, built a little, raced cars a little, briefly visited Dinoland, and played in the play structure. There were play areas and lots of Legos all over the place. The center of the place was a bunch of tables and small food court. There seemed to be 4 different 4D shows that rotate through. It lasts 10 to 15 minutes and includes everything you would expect from a 4D show (sound, lights, wind, rain, snow, 3D glasses).
The exit is, of course, into a Lego store--which is fine by us. We gave each of the kids a $20 budget to pick whatever they wanted.
We spent about three hours in there and could have used another hour or two. If the crowds were less, three hours may have been perfect. There seemed to be other types of workshops that you could sign up for. By the time we were leaving, the crowd was just starting to thin out.
We overheard one of the workers say it was an exceptionally busy time.
Would we do this again? Yes! If you have Lego lovers in your family, this is a good experience. It's not Legoland or any big theme park, but it is a fun mini-experience with Legos. I absolutely recommend trying to find a less crowded time.

What a giant disappointment this place was! The tickets were very expensive ($30+ a person) and it was essentially just a bad advertisement. There were pretty much three rooms: one with giant screens saying that Legos are made by robots and stored in giant warehouses; one admittedly interesting display of Phoenix buildings made out of Legos (some of which were supposed to move or make noise, but half of which were not working); and one giant room with tables and buckets of loose, plain Legos, along with an overpriced cafe, a bad movie theater, and a kiddie ride. The only way out was through the store, where prices were marked up substantially from websites or from stores back in my home state. It was awful. The kids hated it, the adults hated it more, and the whole trip made everyone cranky. Seriously, skip this.

Skip the line and walk right in with discounted tickets purchased on their website ahead of time. We added on tickets to the aquarium next door for just a few dollars more. There’s a food court in the mall for a quick lunch in between, or you can come back to the aquarium on another day. We visited with kids age 5, 6, and 7 and they had a blast.
There are several impressive mini displays with working parts using 1000’s of legos.
There are a couple of short rides - one where you blast at “bad guys” while riding on a car through a series of screens (line moved quickly), and another with a pedaled spinning ride (line moved very slowly). I don’t know if the second was worth the wait.
There are 4D movies that start every 20 mins that heat up or spray mist at you while watching with 3D glasses. There’s a countdown clock until the next movie outside and we could play up until the last minute rather than queuing up. They rotate through several shows so you can come back again to see more than one.
There’s a climb on jungle gym structure to get the wiggles out.
There are also tons of LEGO building zones including one to build cars (very hard to search through the bins to find enough matching parts to make a working car) and a Lego and Friends zone with life sized LEGO versions of the girls.
There is a small restaurant inside but the food looked overpriced and underwhelming. I’d suggest bringing your own snacks or grabbing a bite at the mall food court instead.
While you are in the mall, check out the various LEGO displays built throughout. Our favorite was the fountain just outside the mall entrance by the Lego entrance.
We spent about 2.5 hours there. It seemed about right given our attention spans.

We appreciate the bricktastic review and we're thrilled that you were also able to visit the SEA LIFE aquarium next door! The 4D Cinema, LEGO City Play Zone, and MINILAND are always family favorites. We hope that you come back to visit us again soon!

I haven’t written many TripAdvisor reviews but wanted to leave a note here to help other parents who are on vacation in Scottsdale. We took our two boys age 6 and 2.5 today. First of all, it's way south of everything else, at a budget mall. Second, it's $25 pp for something that should be $10. Third, it's poorly run and poorly maintained. Fourth, parts of it are unfortunately not appropriate for young kids. Last, it's much smaller and less interesting than it looks on the website. We did everything we could and only lasted 40 minutes.
The only two things the kids enjoyed were a climbing structure and a spinning ride. The rest of it was crap. The lego activities are basically bowls of legos to build whatever you want. The car section looks cool - supposedly you can build lego cars and race them down some tracks. In reality there were only a few wheels to work with (in various non matching sizes), and we could find a single axle to put them on. No one was making cars because they all had the same frustration. And there didn't seem to be a single staff person on the floor to monitor or check on anything.
Really - unless you happen to be at this mall for something else, avoid it. It sounds like an attraction of national quality, but it's actually a poorly run local activity.
I spoke to the manager on duty who gave us our money back but had excuses for most of the feedback I gave her.

I should probably recuse myself, as we spent the previous day at the Children's Museum of Phoenix, which exceeds all expectations of play and physical / cognitive stimulation. Our granddaughter is three, and she's very physical. As is reasonable, many of the activities at this facility involve sitting and building. Not a great match for our three year old, but other children (older) appeared to be enjoying themselves very much. Staff are very friendly.

A place to visit periodically for kids of all ages (if they are Lego lovers) There is also a maze type play structure and several do-it areas that are aimed at various age groups. A real plus (significant cost savings) is you can get a joint ticket to visit the next door aquarium and go back and forth on the same day.

Was disappointed with staff response to safety concerns. As an annual member I expected a better solution. The play area was overrun by older school kids on a field trip (there were 120 students there) and my toddler met the height requirement to enter but I was restricted from entering to keep an eye on him and ensure he wasn’t trampled. There was only one staff member at the entrance of the playground area and no one inside ensuring safety. The playground has too many blind spots and not letting parents in on the ground level to observe their young children is absolutely ridiculous and dangerous. Manager Sadie was unapologetic and not helpful at all, I could tell my concern was of no concern to her at all. I will not be renewing my membership unless that policy changes.

We were in Phoenix last month and it was cold and overcast. We cancelled our Grand Canyon trip and were looking for things to do since it was too cold for the pool.
If you aren't asking for much, this is a nice little stop. Consider you might spend $50 at some arcade place and it is well worth it as a unique experience.
There are several rides insides, which aren't awesome, but when working pretty good. One is one of those shoot the target games like Buzz Lightyear at disneyland. You get to ride as much as you want.
The best part was the 4D movies. There were four of them rotating and they had the usual water, snow, etc. effects. If you were to pay $4-5 for these you'd have covered your cost already.
The kids liked the kid gym area, which also costs $7 in our local area. Nothing spectacular, but a nice place for them to let out energy. Also, the place where you can build a lego building and then turn on an EQ was really fun, particularly if your building is not too solid.
Is this as good as Legoland in Carlsbad (San Diego), not by a long shot! It's a little bit cheaper, but not much. So in that sense, it isn't a great attraction. I would not go to Phoenix (Tempe) to see this. However, if you are in town and it is cold, definitely worth a stop by.
P.S. you can get coffee at the restaurant inside...a nice break for parents. :-)

Kids had a great time! Ages 9 and 7. Would have given it 5 Stars if parents didn't have to pay the same price as children. Also their food and drinks are overpriced. I really like that you have to have kids to enter and no one under 18 allowed with out an adult (unless you have a child and your still under 18) after 1 1/2 I lost interest and was tired. Do enjoy that there is a quiet parent room with Windows with free Wi-Fi.

🗣How much is it for (1)12 year old, (two)-2 year olds (1) 9 month old & (one) adult???
Written December 3, 2019
We bought our tickets online, and they were just under $20 each, but for both Legoland and the Aquarium. We have to buy our 3 year old grandbaby a regular ticket, but I'm sure there's a discount at lease for the baby?
