This is the second year in a row that our family has had season tickets to to Big Surf. Our kids are 10, 12, 14 & 16 years old. While Big Surf doesn't have the biggest, scariest water slides in the Valley, it is a great family park. The wave pool is a huge hit and the slides keep the... More

I went on a Monday and that was a great day to go! I haven't been to Big Surf in about 20 years ether. We either had zero wait for slides or just a couple minute wait. That made the day very fun.We went on all the "big kid" slides and loved them. I liked that there was always shade... More

Coming from Wisconsin, it is hard to compare water parks to the ones we have been too in the Wisconsin Dells. This park has a great wave pool and a lot of slides that our 5 year old could go one. It is not a huge park, but it is well thought. What I liked is that they had walkways... More

This pioneering water park -- which introduced the wave-pool concept to the world in the same summer Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon -- is badly in need of a face lift. While the cool wave pool still rules, most everything else seems battered, sun-scorched and/or lukewarmly maintained. Even so, Big Surf's still a funky and not unpleasant place... More

Thankfully I didn't pay much for this dump because I purchased a Groupon. Old place, not enough loungers, overpriced and bad food, can't get any alcohol unless you have a picture ID and you have to drink it in the bar and not take it outside. Wave pool okay, slides are old and need updating. Nothing good about this place.... More

I love big surf! When I was a child I would come here once a month out of the warmer parts of the year to cool off from the arizona heat. Which is most of the year. Highly recommended for kids.

I haven't been to Big Surf since high school. It still has the BEST wave pool of the 3 parks in town. Pluses: wave pool, side pools, kiddie slides and water lined walk ways to keep feet cool. Minuses: lots of weeds/debris, outdated look/feel, burned out building right by entry, really boring kiddie area (though my 2, 3, 6 year... More

We had a great time at Big Surf. Our 4 and 1 year olds were plenty entertained. The kids area was good for them. We could see the areas that need to be upgraded to keep up with other parks. We went on a Groupon, so the cost was less than normal. Hopefully some of the areas can be improved,... More

Big Surf has been around for a long time but they have failed to keep up with the times. While they have added slides everything else was neglected. When you get a locker you have to punch in your number and code then run to it or it will lock. Then you have to hold the door open the whole... More

I researched to find a water park I could take the kids ages 1 1/2 9 12 and grown ups well I found it, Big Surf in Tempe was a diamond in the ruff. The older kids didn't want to go because of chance of rain but it ended up being great because it wasn't to crowded. We arrived at... More
