Nice, but small
Feb 2020 • Couples
We spent a couple hours at the AZ Heritage Center. It was okay but not great. The displays are small and several are dated with old statistics.

Nice overview of Arizona history
Oct 2019 • Couples
A small but fact-filled museum relating a nice overview of Arizona history. With a personal history in the petroleum industry, the display of minerals, fossils, etc. was of great interest. The second floor display depicting the history of Arizona, generally beginning in WWI through the Cold War is well done. The other displays were informative and thought-provoking. Anyone with a sense of history and a couple of hours to fill would do well to spend them here.

Great overview of Arizona History
Apr 2019 • Couples
The museum is a beautiful building with huge saguaros and other cactuses in front. The displays are interesting and informative about all aspects and periods of Arizona history. The displays are set up on such away that families would enjoy them. Also enjoyed a special exhibit of photographs of homeless people in the Phoenix area along with their stories. Very meaningful and insightful exhibit.

The museum has extensive exhibits about the history of Arizona, especially about life and development in the area in the 1900s. Very well done.

A Wonderful View of Arizona History
Dec 2018 • Friends
The Heritage Center really is a must for anyone living or visiting Arizona. Although I attended to view the exhibition of George W. Bush's artwork - "Portraits of Courage" - which was excellent - the Center also provided a fascinating look at Arizona's History. The displays were wonderful and the center is a great place to visit. A very enjoyable afternoon.

Great displays. The exhibition of President George Bush's art was outstanding. We visited 3 times. Staff is friendly and helpful. We would highly recommend a membership - well worth it.

An Afternoon Viewing the exhibit - Portraits of Courage
Dec 2018 • Friends
I spent an afternoon at the Center viewing the current exhibit - Portraits of Courage which was very nicely exhibited. I bought the book a couple years ago...so I wanted to see the painting first hand. I like that the Center brings these types of exhibits to our area. My favorite permanent exhibit is the World War II area upstairs. Without planning it I was there on the 77th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. I went to the one area of the exhibit...sat on the chair and listened to President Franklin Delano Roosevet tell the American people via radio that the US had been attacked. I think next year on December 7th I am taking my grandson to the Center just so he is able to listen to the President give the US the news...and then we will be able to discuss how that type of information would be delivered to us today..and why was it delivered like that in 1941...I think the Center is accomplishing its purpose.

This place is absolutely beautiful. I was in town as a wedding planner trying to find my bride a venue. Her date was not available but I will definitely look to hosting a wedding at this venue

FASCINATING HISTORY WITH EXHIBITS
Jul 2018 • Solo
Modern building has a recent history of Arizona from 1900s onwards. Great population growth due to minerals and Wars. Good location for eye catching photos and do not miss the metal oven outside - Cost was quite reasonable - $10 and stayed for over an hour. They have classes for youngsters and judging from noise they were well appreciated
