I am feeling a bit torn about telling people how great this place is. The first time I went in early spring with a group - we were the only people in the canyon. I've been dozens of times since and seen only two other...More

I used the map that is on this TripAdvisor site and the location is all wrong. It shows Garden Canyon being on Lyle Canyon Rd. which is waaay west of the correct location. Anyway, it was a neat drive and we ended up going to...More

This is a great place to actually see trees and flowers in the desert. The natural water gives a greater variety of plants and wildlife than down on the valley floors, with ample opportunity to see birds, especially hummingbirds. A very relaxing day destination with...More

We almost didn't get to Garden Canyon on our trip to SV, but finally made it there in the last week. You must have a guest pass to get on the Ft. Huachuca grounds, but after that you can wonder around at your will. The...More

OK, we heard about the wildlife and beauty in Garden Canyon and were excited to visit. As we drive in from the entrance off Hatfield, we should have stayed in the furthest right lane to go to the visitor check in and get a badge....More

I'm no birdwatcher, but it was a blast just having the birders instruct me on how to properly find and observe birds. Beautiful landscaping, multiple levels of terrain, and great hiking trails.

You do need a sponsor to get on the US Army base. The road sign is not clear and it is not on the map they gave us at the gate but we were able to find it. From previous reviews, we thought there would...More

If you are one of the lucky ones to have access to Fort Huachuca, this canyon is well worth a day's worth of hiking and exploring. One of the hidden gems of the Huachuca "Sky Islands'. The road/trail heads up through changing landscape ending in...More

Unfortunately Garden Canyon is located on and only accessible through the Fort Huachuca Army base. Only people with a military or military related ID are able to access it.

It is free. Hiking is optional as the road goes nearly to the top of the canyon. However, this is on a military installation and only military, families and others with official access to the base are allowed to visit.
