We stayed there one night, beautiful campground! Nice visitors center and walking trails, lots of history and a really nice interpretive center. It is a must see place and best of all no cost. We can't wait to come visit again!!

The Navajo National Monument has a short walking trail to a view of the ancient ruins in the distant cliff. There is a mounted viewer but suggest bringing a good pair of binoculars.

One of the most pristine ancient ruins because it is not as easily accessible as other ruins. Only 20 people are allowed a day and the permit must be secured months in advance. And there is also the risk of flash flooding in river crossings....More

PS-The weight I cut wasn't water. There is no water out there-a gallon a person is probably an underestimate this time of year. And it is monsoon season - flash flooding is dangerous here. hike so keep checking.. You don't... More
