About
Loutrakiu Baths or Loutra Pozar, as they are popularly known, are located at the foot of Mount Voras and are a point of reference for Northern Greece, as they offer relaxation and well-being in a unique natural environment. The hot thermal springs form natural waterfalls with thermal water, next to the river of Ag. Nikolaou that crosses the whole of Loutropolis and private pools within the Hydrotherapy Centers provide the possibility for therapeutic baths by appointment. Loutra Pozar is a destination that harmoniously combines two of the basic elements of Greek nature: Earth carved by time and running water that springs from six springs and is famous for its healing properties.

I would bathe there every day!
Extremely neat and safe space, ideal for relaxing and having a good time. Properly developed area, without altering nature! The ticket price is quite cheap (€3) and is the same for all indoor heated pools/baths. Right next to the baths, there are the unheated waterfalls, giving the most daring the chance to try bathing in the waterfall's waters. Unique experience!

The criticism concerns only the external area of the baths. I'll start with the service which was very good. The girls at the tills were smiling and eager to inform and serve you. The scenery is fantastic. The premises are clean. We went on a day and time that was crowded but not so crowded that we didn't enjoy the outdoor pool. The water is wonderful even for children. I consider the 3 euro ticket for anyone who wants to enjoy the outdoor pools fair. The changing rooms are clean but have room for improvement. In general we really liked it.

    Dream place!
We took a closed prive pool because of the cold, although we went into the old hydrotherapy center, we liked it very much, it certainly needs renovation, but I guess that's why they call it old. It was spotlessly clean and very good service from all the staff inside and out. It is an amazing place, you can walk towards the gorge and then sit in the cafe and enjoy your coffee. Dreamy place!

    Go back to the baths
The water of the river was cold, 37 degrees was the water in the small pools. It had enough people even though it was not the tourist area for the area. With 3€ you can enter the small pools with the thermal waters that as they informed us you can stay within only 20 minutes. They give you a key for a wardrobe where you can put your personal items. The spaces you can change were not clean.......There is a large pool but I don't know the cost.In the private baths that are around everything is very clean and would not say very expensive. We who were a group of 6 people paid 24 € for a pool. The area in the green with running waters.Shops with local products and souvenirs you will find around. The cars stay below the baths so it is reasonable walking to reach

    Very relaxing
If you are traveling in northern Greece you should look for a little relaxation, should visit the Pozar thermal baths. Admission is 6 euros per pool. The upper pools are recommended. Note that there are only a few looses, so it is better to take fewer valuables with you.

    Life experience!
One of our best experiences! A magical place! We have been several times and each time is a different experience! But the best is when it's cold enough and it's snowing! To enter the thermal baths, burn by the warm waters and the atmosphere falls snow!!! This happens in the movies and in Arideia! How much more romantic? You can walk in the woods! They have built several technical ponds with thermal waters but the most beautiful one is with the waterfall! There is a place to change and the price for therapy is relatively cheap! You can visit it even at night! If you go in autumn, all the plateaus are green along the river! I recommend it to everyone!!!! It's a life experience!

    For once it's okay
We didn't find a place to close for private, so we chose to go public. It was beautiful and free of course should with so much tourism to make more closets to leave someone his things and a space to leave someone his things he has not found. As well as a specific number for how many people will enter the baths. Everyone sits as long as they want, resulting in panic.

Rashes after bathing in the outside waterfall.
A lot of people in the common pools and outer waterfalls. I went 15' so for the experience.I don't know why, but I got small rashes on the back of the thigh at 2 feet.In one less to the point where I felt burning.I tend to retreat with a bath at home after!!

The indoor pools were a nice experience and valuable spaces. He tried 4 different rooms and we distinguished the 11 and 7 for the comfort of the outdoor space and that the room was filled with steam, unlike the other 2 Venus and Erato whose pools were a little smaller as well as their outdoor spaces but higher water level. Without filling the room with steam. We booked an online appointment for preparation due to increased traffic. But for the same day or the next you go there or you just make a call. You can rent a towel at the reception.

We chose and closed an indoor pool because you are private, cost for two people €13 for half an hour. We chose the Erato pool, very clean area, kind staff. it is good to make an online reservation because otherwise there is a chance that you will not find available pools at the time you wish. In the minuses I put that when several hair dryers were working, the general one fell.

Very beautiful scenery, green and you can hear the flow of running water everywhere, something you really need if you live in a city. It is very crowded, parking is often difficult and you may have to wait for a space to become empty. The large artificial pool gathers crazy people, so you don't enjoy sitting in it. The other two are natural, very relaxing with a wonderful water temperature even for winter but also very crowded and relatively small for the people who go inside. You have to wait many times to get in line. Few lockers to lock your things and you have to wait for someone to leave. Changing rooms a bit disgusting, dirty.

We went to the baths in April 2023 and drove from just outside of Thessaloniki (it took us around 2 hours to drive there). We found it difficult to work out where to go in the car when we arrived but there is plenty of parking, free of charge. When we arrived we went to the restaurant first which was lovely. The service was great and we had a lot of food and wine for only €35 (including seafood). After lunch we went on the search for the baths. Again, it wasn't easy to find where we were supposed to go but managed to find one of the baths from just walking around but there was no one there so we assumed it was closed. We walked further up the path and came to a ticket station where you could buy tickets to the outdoor baths. There were two to choose from (one was closed) the large olympic sized pool or the more natural one. We decided to go for the more natural one. The cost was €3 each and if we wanted to go into the other bath (we didn't) it would have been another €3. The toilets were in okay condition but the changing room doors don't lock. This wasn't a problem for us as one of us just held the door whilst the other got changed. The lockers are in good condition and seem very secure. You have to show the person in the hut by the pool your ticket and they supply you with a key for a locker. The pool we went in was lovely, it was quite busy when we went but still plenty of space. Some people were also going over the edge of the pool to bathe in the river and go under the waterfall, the water here is cold (very cold by the looks of their faces haha) so we didn't do this. The water in the baths isn't as warm as we were expecting it to be but it's still lovely to relax in. The floor of the bath is like sand/small stones which feels great to put your feet into. There is also a waterfall going into this bath which feels great when standing under it. All in all we had a good time and considering we only paid €3 each we really can't complain, it would just be good if it was a little more clear on where you had to go once there

Visit on 20/12/23, pool 11.
Like all the others everywhere in the salt flats. I understand that due to the composition of the water maintenance is difficult, but we are talking about 10+ years of accumulated salt in the pool which also has broken tiles.
The shower wasn't working so we left with pool water on our bodies. The hanger was broken, so the bagged clothes were cramped. When they mentioned it to the person in charge (who had gone out for a cigarette) her answer was we know, a plumber will come in the morning. And why don't you let us know before we go in so we can decide what to do?
A metal shelf, whose usefulness I can't understand for so many years, since it's wet and you can't leave anything, is in the rust. The speaker that is there has wires exposed and it's really a wonder it still works.
The disinfection of the area, as they say on their website, where you change, shower, etc. was done by the cleaner in less than 3 minutes.
Also, the air renewal runs out when the door is opened until the next person enters, at about 5 minutes.
The vestibule where we went out to dry our hair and get dressed was in the humidity despite the dehumidifiers and water dripping from the ceiling. Apparently when the humidity is over 90% in the room, 5 dehumidifiers (of which 4 were working) can't do anything because they need professional machines, not domestic ones.
In general, while you have a treasure in your hands, you constantly manage to devalue it and in this way drive away the visitors who leave you their money.

I have visited the Pozar Baths again in February and despite the cold of the season and the area, I confess I ⁇ them more, as the month June - July I visited again had a lot of people with the main problem the bust that created young children, teenagers and even adults who cheered. Baths are for relaxing, relaxing, relaxing. Not to hear voices screaming, and I don't know what else. Finally, it should be noted that hygiene is deteriorating with so many people, because the majority do not pay attention to shower before entering the bathrooms and stumble with their shoes in places that are forbidden. In the wardrobe, they go. More control would not hurt! The prisons there do not take care not to park in places for disabled cars that do not have the corresponding disability card. Tragic!

Amazing place, remote, in the vegetation. You park for free at the bottom of the site or by going further inside. During your walk, you will find several waterfalls or natural water pools in which you bathe or set foot. These are hot (37 degrees!) or lukewarm or cold water springs depending on where you go. There is also a very large swimming pool (37 degrees) with some jets. Access to the bath: 3 euros per person for 30 minutes (theoretical, they leave you alone on this point..) or free (in the waterfall accesses). Very popular with locals. A few tables for picnicking (not very far away) or even self-service on site (not tested). The site is quite pleasant but it could be much better laid out. It's a curiosity of nature, we have a pleasant time there when we want water!

An example of how natural beauty can be turned - with enough effort - into a common ordinary place, dirty and poorly organized. Unlike hotels and restaurants, which make honorable efforts, the area of baths - and not only - is abandoned. It is good for the municipal authority to take a serious look at it and build a worthwhile tourist product. Natural beauty is not enough!

I visited the baths a week ago by making a reservation in the pool named Aphrodite.
I have always wondered how regularly the pools are cleaned which are closed 24 hours 2 weeks before.
Unfortunately, my fears of contamination due to lack of cleanliness were verified.
I left with a nail fungus that I am now fighting with treatment and my girlfriend with a urinary tract infection.

Of course I do not recommend the above experience to anyone for relaxation and well-being.

Great thermal springs, natural & healing. Worth wile exploring, and spending few days relaxing there. You need to book in advance time if youbwont private baths- price is 13eur / per person / 30min. Selection of pools is very good, apx 12 if I remember well. We went to Apollo, which was great.
Apart from that you have open pools, outside - 2/3 eur per person one entry 30min. During a winter time is a bit chalanging🤯 but spring or summer it must be perfect. Parking us available, ruther comfirtable. Highly recommended!

Very disappointed with this place.I can’t believe that we visited and were told they had no bath towels to rent! On the brochure they say you don’t need to bring any towels as you can rent. We ended up paying and buying a towel then there were no empty lockers to put our valuables. So the whole experience in my view was a disaster. The organisation of this place is a joke. It’s a shame that they can’t improve on this experience as so many people visit throughout the year.
