It's a converted gas station/garage, which is awesome. They have a ton of Route 66 memorabilia for sale and some pretty cool decor as well. Prices are reasonable. I'm not sure if it was the owner or just someone else, but the man working was extremely friendly and chatted with us for a few minutes before we left. Very nice guy. Definitely worth a stop!

Seligman is one of those stops that you can either happenstance or you plan. In our case, we planned it. Somewhere in my reading I read that this sleepy little town was used to model the movie Cars. The town is still living the 50's and the great days of Route 66. Much to ogle over, the town is an outside museum. Park your car and walk the four blocks to get from one end to the other. The little things you will see in your walk will make it worth your time. Start at the far west side and make your way past the gas station where you will find the sheriff car sitting out front. Signs don the doors and windows. Look inside cars and be surprised. Humor can been seen everywhere, even the roof. Stop at the many gift shops and you will find affordable treasures for everyone in your family. I saw a cute bag for $16. Unfortunately, it was Saturday night after 5pm and many places were already closed! Stop by the ice cream shop. Enjoy the thousands of messages from all over the world in every possible language hanging from every part of the small shop. The back side of this shop is filled with old cars, trucks, and even a phone booth! We ran into tourists speaking German(?) and taking copious pictures. Afterward, drive over to WIlliams and check out the zip line or the trains. Enjoy a taste of the old west!

When in Seligman a Return to the 50's is an excellent place to visit, quirky like most of Seligman, in praise of the 50's when Route 66 was great and well worth a visit.

It was cool, seemed like I was back in the 50s, the decor, the diners, it was quaint and nice to walk around, seeing all the memorabilia, would recommend as a stop over...

Return to the 50's is a cool little shop to look at, it's an old Gas Station that has been turned into a tourist shop, with a mixture of memorabilia from the 40's and 50's, to Route 66 souvenir stuff. Return to the 50's is located in about the middle of Seligman historic district, so you can park and walk through a number of stores and buildings for the tourist tour. A lot of neat and amazing nostalgic stuff to look at at the various stores, and found the Return to the 50's had some of the better prices. If you want to purchase any Route 66 souvenir's, highly suggest looking in all the shops for the best price, as we found quite a range in price for the exact same stuff depending on which store you were in. Overall Historic Seligman Route 66 is a fun place to jump off the highway and spend some time at, if traveling through.

We were driving through town to go to the Road Kill Cafe and found this place by accident. SO COOL! . We took photos of all the vintage cars outside including "Tow Mater", Went inside to find Elvis and alien memorabilia. My husband was captivated by all the vintage motorcycles inside the back. There was one he saw that was just like his first one, he hasn't seen one like it for many years and he is 60. We bought a couple of Rt. 66 t-shirts and the cashier was very nice. She and her husband told us to go on rt 66 to Kingman, which was a good suggestion. She was one of the friendliest people we met on our whole out west trip. She also told me where Road Kill cafe was. Thanks, Seligman! Very cool place in a great little town!

We arrived in Seligman with limited time available to see everything we wanted to see, but we managed to spend a few minutes checking out the "Return to the 50s Museum". I have forgotten the name of the proprietor, but she was very friendly and helpful. This was the first shop that I found with the magnetic Route 66 sign that I could put on my car. Unfortunately, she only had one in stock and said she did not plan to order any more. But when I bought the only one in stock and mentioned I wanted another, she immediately made a note to order another, just for me, based on my assertion that I "might" be back in three weeks. I made it clear that I may or may not be back, but that did not matter. Just the fact I said I might was enough for her to order one for me. We probably spent about 30 minutes shopping and talking before moving along to the next destination.

Passing through Seligman on Route 66 we happened on this shop and as true tourists couldn’t resist calling in to have a look around. George has some amazing tales and didn’t mind posing for photos - an all round good guy who added to the whole experience - and yes we bought a few things. Great shop and great guy - keep up the good work!

Is any place in Seligman installing commemorative bricks or tiles with the names of people, dates etc.? If so, I would be interested in adding one. My father, Leo Carl Bailey (1907 - 1969) was born in Seligman. I believe his brother, Roy, lived there until several years ago, but has likely passed away since then. His mother was Leona (Glover) Bailey. I was told by one old timer several years ago that a Bailey built much of the town.
Thanks: I look forward to hearing from you.
