As beautiful as hiking is in Sedona, my husband and I fully enjoyed this break. Located about 25 minutes out of West Sedona, I was shocked that is was NOT just floating downstream. We indeed encountered some mild, rapids and beautiful scenery despite the season. I can only imagine how lush it is when everything blooms. Sebastian, our tour guide, was very personable. A "flight" of wine (5 for $10) and crusty bread, oil and olives ($10) at the winery was a perfect and delicious ending to the day. Definitely worth the time!

The tube float was a great experience. It was very easy and enjoyable. I thought it might be too cold since the temperatures outside were comfortable; being in the water was nice. The tubes are very durable; glad we were given the paddles, because I didn't always get caught into the current but it fun and fairly easy to navigate. Lots of fun. Staff was really fun and helpful.

We did the water to wine tour. We did the kayak experience first and it was really fun. There are some areas where the current is faster than other spots but it was not scary or dangerous. It was a very nice float through beautiful scenery. Then we got out of the kayaks and drove to the winery. We enjoyed live music while sampling wine and eating lunch. It was a very nice day.

Note this tour isn’t guided. There is someone that meets you and drives you to the start if the kayak float. From there you are on your own. There was not even a person to meet us when we got off the kayaks.

The kayak was sold out so we chose the tubes for the 2 hour trip. The water was so shallow and there's a lot of rock that hits you right on the bottom and directly to your lower back/spine. There was no warning of the dangers of rock hitting you directly on your back. Lots or manual paddling involved with a ping pong paddle. There was not much of a current so you'd have to paddle your way through lots of shallow waters for 2-2.5 hours! I highly recommend water shoes you will get off lift your tube and walk to get out of shallow areas. We asked if they were needed and they only responded with we will have them and they did not have them! So we took a beating on our feet with cuts and bruises. It's best to do kayak, I don't recommend tubes if you have little ones. It's too much work for them.

Our shuttle driver and “guide” (unguided float) met us at the easily found starting point. She wore a mask and provided masks for our family. She shared all the info we needed and drove us to the starting point. We were pretty much alone on the river. It was a great 3.5 hr float. I would say that a cooler float is pretty key for drinks and snacks. Bella was there when we easily found the pull off point. Loved it, and the kids did too!

We had our own inflatable kayak, so we booked the shuttle from Verde Adventures. They email you with the exact coordinates; first, the place to unload your boat and second, the location to park your car at which is where you will float to.

They picked us up on time and the driver text us the day before to make sure we had his number.

We floated for 2.5-3 hrs, stopping twice along the way to swim and relax.

The Verde River is R&R at its finest, plus some very mild rapids make it a more exhilerating float than a lake.

Our group went tubing and it was a different experience than we expected. The river was very low with little to no flow and we had to paddle our way back (3 hours in August heat didn't make that very fun). I'd recommend they provide full size oars to people tubing and set expectations upfront on the flow.

Good equipment, friendly service, beautiful and peaceful float with a few fun "rapids." I was with adult friends but would be 100% comfortable taking a small child in a tandem, or even allowing a one with confidence on the water and good motor skills to paddle solo if bracketed by adults.

I do think the price tag is high for equipment and shuttle only but I will definitely come back with my husband and kids.

Our package included Zinfest at Alcantara. Great live music, tasty barbecue lunch, and of course WINE. We'll probably make it an annual event but next year we will not lollygag coming off the water because it is essential to grab one of the few tables in the shade! I may throw my own umbrella in the car next time.

Highly recommend the tubing madness trip! It was so much fun and our guide on the bus ride to the drop off zone was so informative and helpful. It took us right over three hours to do the whole trip but you can do it faster. If you use the paddles, they give you. You can bring your own cooler and rent a cooler to to float with you.

It's great to hear that you had an enjoyable experience on the tubing madness trip and that you would highly recommend it! Having an informative and helpful guide on the bus ride to the drop-off zone is a valuable addition to the experience, especially for learning more about the area and what to expect. The flexibility to choose your pace, either taking your time or moving more quickly with the provided paddles, adds to the enjoyment. Bringing your own cooler and renting one to float with you is a convenient way to stay refreshed throughout the trip. Thank you for sharing your positive recommendation, and I hope others have as much fun as you did! 😊

There were 4 people in our party of senior citizens (65-75 years old) and everyone had a great time. We met young families and teens who enjoyed the float as well. Skinny ones, fat ones, all fit in the tube! The water was not too cool, but a bit green (not clear). The company drops you off about 3 miles upstream, but they do not accompany you on the float. We expected 2-3 hours, but our float took 3.5 hours, due to low water. We never stopped, but could have taken a break.
They give you ping pong paddles to move yourself along. There are also water guns you can take to cool off your neighbors!
A great price for 4 hours of fun!
