We booked a beginner glass blowing class for 5 people. Chris was our teacher, and he was fantastic at both explaining the process and leading us (individually) through the process of creating a beautiful glass creation. Granted, Chris did some of the work to make everything come out just right, but we were very pleased with the whole experience, all of the guys' friendliness, and the value. You can stop into their place to purchase items also, and to observe some of the craftsmen at work.

That might seem like an exaggeration given the stunning outdoor beauty of Sedona, but it's true. We took this class with one other couple on 10/6/19- we went first and enjoyed the flowers we made. We stayed and watched (but we didn't have to) to see them make a pumpkin and a bowl. VERY COOL. But I must say- without Austin's excellent and fun personality, it wouldn't have been as fantastic. The experience plus Austin made it the best thing we did in Sedona. Thanks again. And don't forget to tip Austin! He deserves it. ~Holly from Knoxville, TN

While I was a bit nervous being around such hot materials, it was very safe and we were always comfortable there! Jordan was super knowledgable and fun! This could be a great family experience with older kids (no little ones) and the glass work in the gallery is absolutely amazing! I hope the fluted bowl I made for myself turns out as good!

This class was terrific, and my childhood dream came true. Jordan explained the whole process plus guided and assisted us through our Glass Flower production. He gave us the tools needed to make our one-of-a-kind glass flower. When we finished, the glass flower was still too hot to be taken home, so please bear in mind that you can pick up your creation the next day. Overall, Jordan was fun, and everything was easy to understand. The store was full of glass art, and it was hard not to buy anything. There were glass hummingbirds, pumpkins, bowls, pendants, necklaces, and countless more unique pieces. If you visit Sedona, you should include the Melting Point in your travel plans and bucket list, as well. Check out their glass art selection for the very best in unique or custom, handmade pieces locally made in Sedona. Shoutout to Jordan and Taby, you guys made our experience outstanding, and we will never forget this adventure.

As I drove up and down the stretch of Sedona, this name kept jumping out at me, and eventually we stopped. Gorgeous options inside! We were looking for a unique souvenir and we found them here. We went hot air ballooning, and they had some gorgeous glass balloons. We are beekeepers, and they even had some incredible honeycomb glass pieces. It's really cool that they offer workshops, and bring in glass artists from all over to give demonstrations, teach, and share their passions. We loved it so much we went back to buy more. Apparently others do too, as some shoppers were placing a custom order for a piece they saw years earlier and couldn't stop thinking about. Would love to go back to shop or join a class next time in Sedona.

This stop was such a pleasant surprise to us! Our hot air balloon pilot casually mentioned being a glass artist, that lead to us asking if he knew of a place to make our own blown glass pieces and we were in the hotshop that afternoon. The staff handled our 1000's of questions without hesitation. The artist clearly have a passion for their craft and they shared that passion with enthusiasm and patience! Plan ahead...you have to go back the next day to pick up your items. If you're looking for something new and interesting to do, you must go to the Melting Point. We all have a one-of-a-kind, beautiful piece of blown glass that we'll treasure forever.

This is one of the best studios I've been to in the U.S. The teacher this session was Astrid Reidel from South Africa and she is AMAZING. We made all kinds of off mandrel beads this session and I'm delighted I was able to come. The melting point went to great lengths to get her here and should be heralded for their efforts. If you like glass art and jewelry, browse their gallery, you won't be disappointed.

Erin has combined that rare environment: a technically exquisite work space and talented individuals which makes Melting Point a truly great place to experience glass and all its nuances.

I was fortunate to be able to expand my lampworking skills by taking a class at the Melting Point with Kristen Frantzen Orr. Additionally, several of Erin's staff were also able to participate. Kristen is both an established artist and seasoned lampwork teacher. Her classes were some of the best I have ever experienced. Added to the class experience were the tips of the trade shared by Kristen and Erin's staff.

What can I say about the set up for the lampworking classes? Died and gone to heaven. While I did not work in the hot shop, I was able to take a tour. I have over 10 years of experience blowing glass and can recommend her studio for that experience as well. First class all the way with all the glass, tools and safety features you could wish for.

Last, but certainly not least, I believe a studio is defined by the quality of its artists. Erin has the right mix of talent and nurturing personalities. It is what sets this studio apart from many of the studios I have experienced.
