really wish I would be write a good review instead of a bad one for the tour company Adventure Southwest LLC. I received a call 2 days before our tour day which was Thursday, September 7th at 2:33pm to confirm our booking, time of pick up at the city of flagstaff which he gave me between 8:30am - 8:45am Saturday morning, and to ask meal preferences for the tour on Saturday, September 9th, 2017. I spoke to a guy who I didn't catch his name but I asked him about weather concerns and policies they had for rain cancellations, as I am traveling all the way from Los Angeles, California. He assured me that they do not cancel tours unless they feel it is unsafe due to rain issues. He assured me that everything will be fine and that the weather forecast can change by the day. At this point I still had a concern regarding weather issues so I checked everyday up until Saturday morning for the weather forecast. On Friday, a day before the tour I called Adventure Southwest LLC to confirm again, if the tour was still going on or not. I spoke with a woman at 4:19pm and she firmly assured me they do not cancel any tours rain or shine and that everything will be fine. I did explain to her my concerns and told her the weather forecast shows 60% rain and my concern was getting stuck down in the antelope canyon. She assured that everything will be fine. Come Saturday morning on our way to Flagstaff, Arizona I got a call from Jennifer or Jen, the tour guide saying she was already there at the pick up location I had given the guy from her company on Thursday. She arrived at 8:11am saying she's there waiting for us. I told her that we were still on the road and ETA would be 8:32am Once we arrived at our Flagstaff pick up location, she rushed us in a very rude way and told my group and I that were on a time schedule and we needed to hurry up. I explained to her that the guy who I spoke with on thursday clearly told me that our pick up time would be 8:30am-8:45am and she said she had a different pick up time and didn't even apologize, but continued to rush us inside the bus. On our way to Antelope Canyon it started pouring hard! the roads got really wet and Jen was driving really fast like if she was in a hurry, while also talking about facts and history of the roads we would pass. At one point the bus swerved and she almost lost control. This was really nerve racking, and very unsafe and unprofessional of her to continue driving this way. after almost 2 hours before arriving to Page, Arizona she finally decided to call the Antelope canyon tour to ask if it was still okay to take the tour, mind you my group and I had been on the road for almost 5 hours prior to those 2 hours of riding under the rain with Jen. Then she told us the tour was cancelled and she had to drive back to Flagstaff. On our way back to Flagstaff she offered to stop by Hubbell Navajo Trading post and asked for a tip because she was taking us there. I couldn't believe my ears when she said that. At this point we just wanted to head back to Flagstaff. We were super devastated we couldn't take the tour but we understand none can control the weather ,However as a tour buisness company they should be more professional when it comes to these things especially if there is a high percentage forecast of rain! It was a total of 7 hours of driving that were wasted, 2 hours of Jen driving to Page with our even caring to check the weather in the morning time. My group and I had booked a hotel stay at Flagstaff for the night of the tour and we tried getting a refund after the tour was cancelled and we could not. We had no choice but to stay there. All this could've been prevented if Adventure Southwest LLC would've been professional, not give false exceptions after I called twice regarding weather issues. It was a huge waste of time and Jen was simply unprofessional speeding while it was raining and should ask for a tip because she's taking us to a trading post. They didn't even offer us a discount for another tour or free voucher for the huge inconvenience. Really disappointed with this company.

In April 2016 we took a family vacation to Sedona for Spring Break and a bucket list item was to see the Grand Canyon. Adventures Southwest was recommended by the resort where we stayed, and we couldn't have been happier! We originally were scheduled to tour on a day that thunderstorms came in, so Drew contacted us and we were able to rearrange our other plans to avoid the rain. Talk about service! Maggie was our guide who arrived promptly in a nice, comfortable SUV and was full of knowledge, humor, and experience... she was able to effortlessly engage with our teenage daughter (13) and son (16) to keep them interested the entire time. We felt like family by the end of the tour and were sad to say goodbye! DO NOT choose any other tour company but Adventures Southwest. You'll get your money's worth and a whole lot more! THANK YOU, Maggie and Drew (and sorry this took so long to submit!)

This trip involved a day long adventure with guide Marsha who met us in Flagstaff with a comfortable van and took us north to the scenic lookout at Horseshoe Bend. The drive was interesting and Marsha was very entertaining and informative about the area. The short hike needed to reach Horseshoe Bend was welcome exercise, and the view was worth it! The existence of that deep canyon in what seemed like flat desert was amazing. A brief drive brought us to a picnic area overlooking Powell Lake, and we were treated to an excellent lunch - massive sandwiches, chips, drinks, dessert. Cameron Trading Post later on had a huge assortment of native-made crafts of all sorts, perfect for personal purchases and souvenirs. Antelope Canyon was unforgettable, complete with a Navaho guide and haunting flute. Overall, a super experience for all of us, and we are very pleased with how things went. Not cheap, but considering an 8 hour unique adventure, with a relaxing van, driver and guide Marsha all day, Navaho guide, excellent lunch, magnificent scenery, awesome photo opportunities and memories for a lifetime, it was worth every penny. Thanks Drew and Marsha, from the Scoutens in Canada!

My family came to AZ for a vacation and wanted to tour the Grand Canyon while we were there. We decided to use Adventure Southwest to guide us and I was glad we did. Our tour guide was Wade, who met us at our hotel in Flagstaff to pick us up. He drove all of us an hour and a half to the grand canyon, talking along the way was easy and Wade was extremely friendly telling us about his experiences and asking us about ourselves. It was very helpful having a guide who has as much experience hiking the canyon as Wade does. Seeing as how we were all noobies to the grand canyon, we didn't really come prepared. No worries though! Wade had everything we needed. He came prepared with food, water, soft drinks, and walking sticks. Wade was very knowledgeable about the canyon and showed us multiple lookout points after we hiked the South Kaibab trail down to Cedar Ridge. Wade told us the day was ours, we could do whatever we wanted and he was just there to help guide us. THE ONLY BAD THING WAS HE SAID WE MIGHT SEE ELK AND WE SAW NONE! It's ok, I'll still give Wade 5 stars. I would recommend this tour to anyone, especially people who are new to something like this like we were. Great tour guide, great experience, great scenery!

What a great opportunity to experience the wonders of the Grand Canyon! We could have done it on our own, but having a guide and being taken to all the special places in the Grand Canyon was a joy! Our driver, Bob, was most knowledgeable..and thoughtful...he made the trip memorable for all of us! If I had to do it again I would go with Adventures Southwest...they seem to care alot about their customers.
