4x4 trip

Beautiful, long trip between Sedona and Flagstaff. It is a very rocky and beat up road. It was worth doing once but I would not go again.

Great trail for a view of Sedona and Oak Creek Canyon. Well maintained and moderately strenuous for most. Very enjoyable!

This trail is rated a 5 in many hiking reviews so we gave it a try when we were in Sedona. My wife and I love to hike and have been hiking this summer all over Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona and Utah. First let me say, yes, the scenery is a five. Beautiful. But the trail itself - in comparison... More

Wide open views alternating with close-in creek trail, pine forest. Very beautiful, enjoyable, a perfect hike. Cowpie was a very worthwhile, non-strenuous extension leading to great mesas, and entertaining to watch the mountain bikers thread their way along the Huckaby [?] trail. And if you are tired, you can take some or all of the road back down--yest, there are... More

Leaving the parking lot, going east, this trail will lead you down into the canyon and to a lovely little creek where it comes out at a picnic area called Cow Pies. We actually hiked out on the trail until we got to the dirt road, followed the road around to the Cow Pies area and came back up through... More

Munds wagon is a nice leisurely trail, Hangover Trail veers off to the NW and does a 3.3 mile loop around to munds wagon trail further down. It's an awesome 3.3 mile trail extension worth taking with amazing views. Only an elevation gain of about 250 ft to get that much more awesome views. Totally worth it. Our favorite hike... More

This hike may not have the stunning panoramic views but there is plenty to enjoy....interesting plant life, quiet pools of water, fording streams, and more. This hike is great for a hot day as it has plenty of shade. We would recommend it for families. The one drawback is it parallels the dirt road off and on. You hear the... More

This trail starts at an easily accessible parking lot about a mile up Schnebly Hill Rd, just before the pavement ends. It runs more or less parallel to the road and in part follows the creek. We only took it as fast as the turnoff to Cowpies, since we were doing the Hangover trail, but that stretch was a gorgeous... More

This trail was more of a wilderness hike than many of the scenic hikes around the area. It had rained in Sedona the two days before our hike on Munds Wagon Trail and the usually dry creek beds were filled with water. The trail repeatedly crosses the creek. Initially we were able to jump from rock to rock to cross... More

It was a beautiful 21 degrees on 1/3/2015 when we started the day and plowed our way through the ankle deep snow. It was a moderate 8 mile hike and begins with mostly shaded areas and ascends up through a wash that had beautiful "frozen" waterfalls. As the trail rises up out of the creek bed, technicolor views expand to... More
