Easy scenic trail. Lots of beautiful scenery especially during the end of the day when the rocks seem to change colours

They go from orange to red purple grey and green. Parking is not plentiful right at the trailhead though. Use a walking stick if you have one.

If you had time for only one view of Sedona, other than driving through town on Highway 89A, the main street, the Airport Mesa panorama should be the top choice of your list. In fact, even if you spend many days in the Sedona area you should include this viewpoint at the top of your list. Yes, it gets crowded... More

Everyone should make time to hike to the top. It's not hard at all. I saw a lot of seniors making their way up. The energy is so uplifting and beautiful I can't describe it properly. Make sure to stop a little before the top and see the twisted Juniper tree. It carries amazing healing energy. Looking at it from... More

You have to pay $3.00 to park to see the view, but it is very cool. A thunderstorm rolled up while there and it was impressive.

A short, easy drive up to the mesa. The view of downtown is beautiful and sunsets can be spectacular.

I guess i'm biased because i love everything in sedona...but airport mesa was one of my favorite little trails to take! You get 360* views- breathtaking! A lot of people do this trail at sunset- too crowded and overrated for me...the red rocks are beautiful at sunset no matter where you are standing, so do yourself a favor- skip sunset,... More

Be sure to get here about a half hour before sunset. There is a $3 parking fee and the spot facing the Red Rocks gets pretty crowded with sunset watchers. There is a great trail for hiking to the Vortex but it is quite steep and very rocky.

One of the best secret place to see a amazing sun set, and the total view of the area is amazing. You have to see it to believe it.

I had heard that the Airport Mesa was a great location to get sunset photos. While it is a good view overlooking Sedona the sunsets in January are not a good angle for sunset photos. It snowed the night before and the area where you walk and park for the overlook becomes a red muck that sticks to everything.

Only a few parking spots! get there early. Very short but somewhat steep hike most people can do easily. There is a cortex there-- it is mainly a place to look at views unless you decide to hike a nearby trail.
