Nice View with a crowd

We enjoyed the views from Airport Mesa although the sunset that particular night was nothing special. There was a big crowd but plenty of parking.

This is an easy place to get to and has several places to stop and view the rocks. There is plenty of parking but no restrooms or facilities.

I've heard for years that the restaurant at the Sedona airport was good but it's actually great! I sat at the bar after a long sweaty hike and felt underdressed but I was hungry! I had wonderful service and a really fantastic dinner of shrimp and grits. The side of roasted spicy corn was out of this world! The menu... More

We had a beautiful hiking day and this was a nice hike with a kid. We loved the view of Sedona and the mesas in the background.

I know that I am going against the grain on this one, but we didn't find the view that incredible at sunset. The sky was washed out and boy, was it crowded! If I was to go here again, I'd do it in the morning so that you have the sun at your back as you look to the west.

We went at about 7pm to see the sunset. It really wasn't too packed. We got a spot standing in the front, which was great. As more people showed up, some had no problem walking/standing in front of you and ruining any photo ops of the sunset. I don't recommend getting there too early as you will sit around and... More

It is such an incredible place to see the beauty that Sedona has to offer. It offers a different perspective of the mountains and the rock formations. To see them up close is one thing, but to see them from a distance is breath taking!

Our first morning in Sedona started with started with my daughter waking my wife and I up at 5 am. She wanted to take sunrise pictures. So my daughter, her husband, my wife and I got up and headed to the first place I could thing of, Airport Mesa. It had been raining the night before when we arrived and... More

Yes, you park at the airport, go through a gate, and hike the trail. It is a pretty easy hike, but you can also park at the bottom if you don't want to do the trail. The view from the rocks is of course spectacular with a vortex thrown in.

When in Sedona you must stop by this point a couple of times to capture the changing vistas based on the time of day and the ever changing lighting and clouds.
