I love this approximately 3 mile R/T Trail because it takes you to 3 really cool spots and they are (1) Chicken Point perch with its Fred Flintstone Sofa & to die for views, (2) impressive distant view of Cathedral Rock from wide flat rocks on right side 3/4 of the way up to Chicken Point and short 1/2 mile... Best views in all directions. Many trails tie into Little Horse. See Bell Rock and Cathedral from a distance. Beautiful.

Wonderful views from this hike! Quite a few mountain bikers, but we still would recommend this hike to others.

This is a fantastic hike. The is easy to moderate and took a couple of hours to the top and back. The hike is good for experienced and non experienced hikers alike. The trail is well marked and easy to follow. The scenery is stunning, especially at the top. If you're considering a hike but worried about difficulty, this is... More

Go to the state highway 179 exit off I-17, through the village of Oak Creek, another about 1.5 miles, look on right (its past the Bell trail turnoff) and you will see the sign. It is in the fee area and has a single restroom and parking for appx 30 vehicles. Easy to moderate, some rocky areas, if you have... More

Got off the plane, drove to Sedona, and when our room wasn't quite ready, we set off on the Little Horse trail to Chicken Point. Easy to moderate trail, more easy than anything. Gradual uphill grade although you don't really notice. The Red Rock views are incredible and unfortunately indescribable to truly do them justice. Takes about 1 hour 5... More

A guide at the Hike House recommended this one for an easy, fairly short, scenic trail to start out with. What a great trail! We were not expecting such amazing scenery everywhere we turned. We only went about half way before turning around because of time restraints, but that was plenty long and saw so much. Great recommendation.

The trail is easy/moderate - and worth every step. We were a bit disappointed that "someone" was shooting pistols while we were hiking as it made us wary. We did enjoy the trail which has a mix of forest and open view.

We hiked part of this trail and had a good hike. It is an easy walk and we did not go the complete trail.

Hiked this trail in September 2016 when heading for Cathedral and Bell Rock. The trail winds in and a bit and follows the highway up towards Cathedral and Bell Rock Vortex area. Its the surrounding scenerery that is outstanding rather than the trail itself with amazing views 360 degrees so remember to keep looking back as well. Car park was... More
