This was a moderately easy climb and has a great view of the canyon behind and the mountains in front of it. Perfect spot for sunset and just relaxing up top.

Although it is a short trail 2 miles round trip, it is not for beginners or anyone that had difficulty walking. Some parts are very steep and rocky.

Our group began our walk up Doe Mt Trail in the dark at 5am, using head lamps and hiking poles. The climb was well worth it... the sunrise view was spectacular. Note that the trail is narrow at some portions, with a steep dropoff.

We think this was one of the better and more enjoyable hikes. But not an easy hike so be warned. There is a lot of switchbacks and some tough parts to navigate. So yes not a good hike for some people. If you have a...More

My husband and I started up this trail, got about half way up and decided to turn back. While we are experienced hikers, the trail becomes mostly a rock climbing adventure with many places quite tricky. If you are quite agile and very careful, it...More

My wife and I hiked to the top of Doe Mountain. The short trail has several switchbacks that make it easy to climb. We had wonderful views during the ascent. Once on top we paused for about an hour to look around and admire the...More

If you are in the area, please make sure to visit. Stunning vistas, red rocks galore and many, many great places to meditate and catch your breath (at the altitude, mind it!) :-)

We had ended a hike up Boynton Canyon earlier in the morning on account of Thunder. After a long lunch, we could see the rain had headed off, so we drove back to another trailhead. This one, also marked as moderate, was doe mountain. The...More

Guy at The Hiking House said this was an easy hike. Ha! Ha! The half mile climb to the top is a scramble straight up the mountain. At the top of the mesa we did walk the entire rim which is flat and easy. The...More

This trail is really short but it is all up hill. We started at 5 pm and had plenty of time to explore and takes pics and start back down before it got dark. This is a good place to watch the sunset but you...More

Yes, there are trails everywhere, try to get a map of the area. The Sedona Chamber of Commerce is a great source or the US Forest Service!

Agree with Ron below about Bear Mountain. If you go to Boynton Canyon/Kachina Woman around 10 am you may catch Robert there playing the Native American flute from the top of the pillar. Magical! If the Earth could sing... More
