We were a family of 10 (ages 7-16, 45-69). We chose this hummer ride since we could all go together and face forward (unlike jeeps where most face sideways and you miss some views.) Communication was excellent. Very accommodating. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. We took the Cliffhanger tour. Jesse, our driver, was very informative, skilled and concerned about our environment! This thrilling ride did throw us around. We did drive on the edge of a one lane path going up and down a mountain. Three family members were very nervous to go but had a blast and would go again they said later! I have been to Sedona many times but had never gone in this area of Sedona before. We had a Groupon which helped with the cost. If you have a large group, we highly recommend Sedona Off Road Adventures! The only con was the one hard to find, storage closet bathroom that was in a backroom.

We are ecstatic to hear you and your whole family had one adventure not to be forgotten with Jesse. Our guides take their customer service above and beyond and it shows with every adventure. The Cliff Hanger is one of those tours that will keep you at the edge of your seats but well worth it. Our Hummers are perfect for larger families to seat and be together the whole tour. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your amazing experience and for choosing Sedona Off-Road Adventures!

What can I say aside from Thank You!! We had some issues with Groupon that took forever with many issues yet they worked with us and in the end it was well worth it. We had Alex as our guide and we all loved him. As my husband said - He is just a truly genuine person. He made sure to let us know that if we wanted to stop for photos to just let him know. His knowledge of the local territory was much needed for us newbies. Unfortunalty the National Parks were closed so we had to stay to asphalt but if we go back we will use them again.

This is the place to use!!!!

We had a blast on this trip. Our tour guide was James and he was great fun...and took fabulous pictures for us along the way. If you sit in the back of the jeep, you'll get a fun and very bumpy ride. The 2 hour tour was great.

Took the family on red rock tour. Driver was friendly but wish he had more knowledge of the area. It came across as if he really was not that knowledgable. Hummer was different in a good way. Did a tour years back that was much better. Can’t recall the company though.

My family and I booked the cliffhanger tour. We drove to Sedona, ood and ahhd at the red rocks and the cathedral as we made our way through to Sedona Off Road Adventures. And then the nightmare began. As we attempted to check in for the tour, it was instantly apparent that GroupOn bookings were not favored. We were treated as if we were stealing from the company, and at one point the woman taking our information even accused us of trying to scam them. Out loud! Within our earshot she actually said to another employee that we were trying to scam them. They added a tax that we had not ever experienced using GroupOn. When we questioned the additional cost and tried to negotiate that the added fee had not been specified and that’s when they got hostile and accusatory. As for myself, I have a bit of trouble negotiating stairs due to a back injury. So my partner filled out my form, but accidently signed my name. Oh lord, what a ruckus that created. The woman behind the counter acted like a stick of dynamite whose fuse had just been lit. She snatched the form out of my partner’s hand and started yelling at her as she wadded the paper up. I was made to walk up to the second floor to complete my paperwork. As the woman handed me the form, I simply passed it over to my partner to fill out-again, since I did not bring my glasses. And then I signed it. All of this could have been avoided by just letting my partner run the form downstairs to me in the first place. I have never been so put off or disappointed. And we had not even begun the tour! And once we got in the hummer, the experience did not improve much. All we did was drive about 15 minutes out of town to a dirt offroad. We experienced red dust, a few inane comments about some plants, sudden stops only to ogle a couple of bunnies, and non-stop droning from the driver (the hummer noise was so loud we could not understand his narration unless we were stopped for the wonder bunnies of the southwest). This company claims to be the only eco tour in Sedona. I’m sorry, but running a bit of biodiesel and stopping to point out a few trees and bunnies does not an eco tour make for me. Now imagine hearing this: “ok folks, we are at the turnaround point.” What! Yes, all we did was go bumpity bump down hill only to go bumpity bump up the same rocky trail we had just come down. What a disappointment. We didn’t even get near any of the red rocks. A couple of years ago we did a pink jeep tour. And because that was so awesome, we thought the hummer tour would be too. Wrong. Never assume. Sedona Off Road Adventures is in Sedona. You do get off a paved road. But there is no adventure waiting unless you are willing to endure malicious invectives from the woman at the office, or if going bumpity bump to observe the wild wonder bunnies and a few trees is your definition of adventure. And as for this being their “cliffhanger” tour, do not assume all the connotations of the word since the only one that fits is the fact that at a few points along the trail, the hummer actually got close to the edge and you could see down into the canyon. To me, the name of this particular tour is bordering on false advertisement. Do not expect much from this company for you surely will be disappointed if not outright accused to your face of trying to scam them if you use GroupOn.

I have encountered the Sedona Offroad Adventure tour HUMMER on Forest trail 9549b twice. And both times the Hummer was driving way too Fast for the Conditions and both times slid to a halt narrowly missing a collision with me on my quad. If he were driving for the conditions instead of thrillseeking and putting us all at risk for danger, I would not complain. The Driver was rude and acted put out and acted like it was our fault. The Hummer is too big for the trail and noisy , greasy and loud. If you want a tour that cares for the environment go somewhere else. These drivers dont care about safety or nature. This is the second time this has happened to me on this trail about a year apart. A suggestion to have your drivers be more cautious would be helpful!

We picked this tour because it lists "Mild, moderate, rough", etc. It also describes what you will see on your tour. This is a group of young 60 year olds -- not 20 somethings. We asked for the Indian Culture Tour which was rated "Mild" and was to include a great deal of historic information.
What we received when we arrived was a hummer and a young man who seemed to know what we wanted. He did a good job at Montezuma's Well. Then he went into the desert. He went way to fast for safety, nearly tipping the Hummer over on one woman's leg. He got lost, had to call back to the home station, knew no history, and seemed most interested in how fast he could drive on rocky roads. He did not consider his audience at all! Finally we arrived to where the petroglyphs were to be and it was a straight drop. One could need rapelling experience to get there. Two of us had been to this sight before by car and we knew there were other ways to get there. Finally, after more calls to base, we made it out of the desert, never having seen the adobe cliff dwellings or the petroglyphs. It was horrible. The driver did admit we were his first tour group. Seriously? For elderly people? We would have stayed and complained and asked for our money back, but we were too sore and tired to think about it.

Yesterday we went up to the Colorado Plateau / Schnebly Hill Road/with our driver, Ann. What a wonderful gal! Awesome driver! She had tons of information on the area and the flora and fauna and lots of history.
We were set up and turned onto this tour by our concierge, Jackie, at Arrabella Hotel in Sedona on 179. Wow! What a wealth of knowledge! She asked the perfect questions so that we could match our needs with what was out there. My sister in law has knee issues and so I was a bit worried on what she could handle. WE HAD A BALL! We could not have done this without you, Jackie. Thank you SOOOO much..
The road was a challenge but Ann did an awesome job. When the road got a bit rough, she had stories for us to keep us focused.
The views were incredible.
