We rented the jeep for 8 hours, but instead of picking up the jeep at 9am, they told us we couldn't get it until 10am and still had to bring it back by 5pm. They did NOT prorate the price for only allowing us to have it for 7 hours, so that's why I'm only giving this 4 stars. Just something to be aware of. That was the only negative thing about our experience though. Other than that we had a great time. We were able to go on 3 trails (including the devil's bridge, where you can drive within .8 miles of the bridge. I highly recommend doing this instead of hiking the full trail.) They gave us maps and good instructions. The jeep was nice and easy to drive even if you are an inexperienced off road driver. Lots of beautiful places to stop for pictures. An ice chest was included, so bring some sandwiches and stop at an overlook for a picnic. It was a lot of fun and something different to do. I would highly recommend.

Thanks for the feedback! Yeah, I understand the frustration of wanting it for as much of the day as you can, but not having a Jeep pickup time available in order to take full advantage of it. That's the main reason we stopped offering an 8-hour special now--because most of our advance reservations are already filling up what would be the prime pickup time for a day special. Sorry you had that frustration, and thanks for confirming that we made the right choice to drop trying to offer that. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any more feedback.

This was an absolute highlight during our recent vacation to Sedona. We own a Jeep but where we live don't have opportunity for any off-roading.
The staff were so nice and friendly and couldn't be more helpful. I had done some research on a few trails before we arrived. The staff were able to confirm the trails would be suitable for our experience, recommended a couple other trails and then provided maps on each pointing out what to expect and when to put the Jeep into 4 Lo, etc.
It was absolutely amazing to see what the vehicles can do and with such ease. You approach obstacles that look so menacing, but once you are up (or down) them you can't believe how easily the Jeep traverses them.
The Jeeps were well maintained and very clean. Check in and drop off were very smooth. Again, I can't say enough about the staff and how wonderful they were to work with.
I highly recommend booking a Jeep with Barlow regardless of your off-road experience. It will be a highlight of your trip!

These guys are professional, experienced abs friendly with top notch jeeps. Handled insurance and paperwork upfront. Only issue was the tire and windshield insurance for $25 they sprang on us last minute with no time to verify if our insurance or credit card covered it . Free ice with cooler, pro tip ask for cooler without handles! Those just rattle and bang around the entire time!

We got the 24-hr Jeep rental, noon to noon, and were able to do and see so much! They are taking COVID very seriously and our jeep was extremely clean. We were so happy to have air conditioning and felt a little bad for the folks in the open air jeep tours having to wear masks and likely sweltering in the 90°+ heat. This was also a lot more time for less money than a tour for 4 adults. Chris gave great trail recommendations and our favorite was Diamondback Gulch. I'm 50+, have done minimal off-roading and was concerned it might be too challenging, but we did an easier trail first to work up to it, and it was great fun.

We went back & forth about doing the 8 hour or 24 hour rental. The 8 hour would have definitely been enough for us but we did end up going with the longer rental. We'd been to Sedona before so this was a fun/different way to see Sedona again.
One of the best things is getting rid of the 'road walking' portion of the Devil Bridge hike.
We didn't buy the $25 windshield/tire insurance so of course that means we blew a tire :( We tried to make a claim with our credit card but was never able to get the correct backup from Barlow (even after contacting them 4 different times).
If you decide to rent the Jeep just pay the $25 & save yourself some hassle.
I would not recommend this at all if you have any back problems.

Great experience from start to finish. The staff was very informative and the Rubicons were in excellent condition. The trails they suggested were perfect for what we wanted. As a Wrangler and Gladiator owner, I highly recommend Barlow Jeep Rentals for anyone looking to explore the Sedona trails. Thanks for the the awesome experience!

A definite must if you are ever wanting to experience trails or these jeeps. A must Even for the experienced jeepers. We are old school, manual jeepers and are experienced and this was an awesome experience since we had never driven a 4 dr, automatic Rubicon, nor been on any AZ trails. Sophia managed beautifully and the trails were awesome. We were able to do 4 of the 5 trails in our 24hr rental.. The staff was awesome and informative for even us. They give maps and advice for these trails. We highly recommend if you have never been in a jeep or on any AZ trails do the Easy ones first to break you in. Also read the info on the map sheets. Will continue to rent from Barlow on are future returns!

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. They walked through each trail very throughly so you felt comfortable as soon as you got on the road. Driving the Jeep was a thrill and one of our favorite parts of the trip. Definitely make sure OHV trails in Sedona are a part of your adventure here and get your Jeep from Barlow! So much more fun when you’re in the drivers seat.

Great jeep, clean and professional check in and drop off. Did Schnebly day 1, Sunset Crater and ruins, Flagstaff brewery then the next morning drive to Devils Bridge and saved loads of hiking time since you can 4x4 to main trail entrance. Great maps suggestions.
Amazing! With short fall days we felt these spots were best for the $ and experience!

I took a day off for myself in Sedona, while enroute from Boston to business in Burbank. I rented a Jeep Rubicon from Barlow Jeep Rentals for 24 hours, to experience both sunrise, sunset and night sky. Not having explored the Sedona area canyons before, but having 4x4 experience, Mary from Barlow Jeep handed me several routes to follow and generously described details of what to expect. The Rubicon handled all challenges getting me to my desired vistas, which were spectacular. Mary was passionate about how she and her staff care for the vehicles. The fine green vehicle I had was clean, mechanically tricked out for the purpose, and ready to ride. Mary even loaned me a cooler with ice and a folding chair for breaks (thanks!). I 100% recommend renting from Barlow, and plan to return again. Note: The areas can be remote, so go prepared and, while I went solo, it is better and safer sharing the experience with others.

We want to rent a jeep to see Monument Valley in mid-July. Does your business provide jeeps to explore Monument Valley. How long would it take to explore? Price? 2 adults. Soft-top, 4x4 preferred.

Hello,
Our party of 4 will be staying in Vegas. How far is it to your location? Also it is our first trip there so which tour do you recommend and where is a pricing guide?
Written June 10, 2016
I am not with Barlow Jeeps-we only rented and recommended them but it's about 4 1/2 hours/275 miles to Sedona from Las Vegas where we rented them. We enjoyed the Schnebly Hill trails but those can be very narrow and very busy and went we went we were told go early before it really gets light. Broken Arrow was neat too and we enjoyed Soldier Pass. There is a web site but I don't think there is a pricing guide. It was a better deal than taking the Pink Jeep tour and we rented the jeep for 3 days with 5 of us (tight squeeze) which was the best deal.

I don't believe so, but call to confirm. You may be thinking of the Pink Jeep tour company as they do pick up from your hotel.
If you want your own adventure, figure out a way to get back and forth to Barlow.

We will have four people in a jeep for a day. Is the 4-door worth getting for the extra room?
Written April 16, 2015
The longer wheelbase of the 4-door means a smoother ride, easier access to the backseat, more legroom, and more cargo area. The 2-door is more maneuverable, but there are no trails in Sedona that the 4-door can't handle with grace.
