As a family we were in Sedona for two days - if your trip is short and you love to hike you cannot miss this one! If you get to the top there is a "trail end" sign. Take a minute and soak in the...More

We hiked up to the top point in late afternoon and it is an arduous climb with specific sections requiring care and at times hands and feet. Coming down some of the steepest sections is difficult and not for the faint of heart. If you...More

Great hike but quite steep with a baby on your back. We made it about halfway, but still enjoyed a great view.

Nestled right smack in the center of Sedona you can't miss the majestic spires that make up this magnificent piece of godly matter. If you are a novice hiker stay below and around the base. The trail up to the saddle is for the experienced...More

I hiked with a private guide and found some great scenic views. Def pay attention to footing as some of the rocks can be a little slippery. I went early Thursday morning before it got too hot and it wasn't too crowded. Perfect for meditating...More

Great place for a hike with several options. Paths are well marked and easy to navigate. Parking and restrooms are available nearby. Hike early to avoid the heat of the day. Shade was hard to find.

Having lived here for 7 years, we have hiked Cathedral Rock many, many times. For my wife's birthday last year we hiked up to the saddle, which is a fairly technical and quite difficult hike. To do that hike, you access the trail from the...More

Hiked this 4 days ago and it was absolutely wonderful. My friend and I hiked this in 1 hour and 15 minutes but 2 hours is average. There's one part of the hike where it got a little nerve nerve wracking to see the cracks...More

I was worried because I am only 15 about the difficulty of the hike. I was also very worried about my little sister and my father with his knee problems. However the hike while daunting when you first looked at it was extremely rewarding and...More

Went with my husband, 9 year old and my 15 year old. Some challenging parts for our youngest (see pic of her laying down) but soooooo worth it! Almost cried at the end so proud of everyone!

Perfect arrival time. It's hot an crowded in the afternoon, plus it's a little sketchy hiking down once the sun has set.

I doubt the heat will be as much of an issue in October. But it would still be nice to get an early start to beat the crowds. Parking and be tough if you get there too late.

We didn't actually climb Castle Rock but hiked to it through a state park on the "backside". The hike was very doable for the two of us in our mid 60's and the trail was very enjoyable. Sorry if this is exactly an answer to... More
