If you only have time for one hike, this is the one. This trail offers million dollar views of Sedona, particularly at sunrise or sunset. Our hike started at the airport lot. Parking is $3/day. You can pay the person at the kiosk or if not there, a machine nearby. There is a small free lot down the hill at the Airport Loop trailhead, but it's limited to about 8 cars. The hike is relatively flat, except for the 1/2 mile trail to/from the airport lot. I appreciate the pro tip about going counterclockwise around the loop. The trail offers panoramic views of Sedona on one side, and Cathedral/Courthouse and Bell Rock on the other side.

Beautiful views of Sedona on overlooks. A little narrow trail in spots, but not too dangerous for novice hikers. Park in the first lot you come to - it's free and if you go further onto airport property, you have to pay to park. Vortexes are nearby so take your time, relax and enjoy the aura and vistas., Trail took about 90 minutes to leisurely hike with stops for views and pictures. .

Downside is that this is not wilderness and planes will be taking off and landing during your walk. But if you have only one place to go to see views and take photos, this is the trail you should do. Most people will access up at the airport. If you do, you'll need to trek from there to just under the vortex and begin the loop there. If you're fortunate enough to grab parking by the vortex, your trek will be that much shorter. There're also ways to gain access from the neighborhoods on short feeder trails. Regardless of how you access, I recommend the counter clockwise direction. So from below the vortex actually cross the street at the marked crosswalk and begin you walk inside the fencing. It's something like three miles, but the upgrade in this direction is more gradual than if you go the opposite route. And the entire route is quite rocky. Stay on the loop trail throughout. There are labeled direction signs at each intersection. Once you loop to the vortex, for those needing to return to the airport parking, you'll need to return the way you originally came. Do not walk the roadway! If you accessed from the neighborhood below, continue to your entry point (if you can remember where it was). Most of all have fun and if there's a threat of rain, there's very little cover along the way.

We hiked about a third of the airport loop trail before turning back – so about two thirds of the distance, but considerably less than all of the trail. As you walk along the ridge from the airport parking lot, the views of a variety of red rock formations are really nice and they vary as you move along. Unfortunately, the path itself is pretty rough, uneven, with a lot of rocks, so that you really need to watch your step, and you’ll need to come to a full stop to take in the scenery. Since the trail was busy when we were there, that also meant finding an open space to avoid holding others up. In many places, this would be a showplace trail, but there are any number of better hiking alternatives around Sedona. It may be the best place to see the red rocks from an elevated spot, but you can get a good sense of that from the Mesa overlook and do your hiking at one of the many other excellent trails around town.

I want to stress as other have, this is a rocky trail that will give your feet a workout. It says it’s 3.2 miles but will feel like twice that!! It was a low 60 to 65 degree sunny but slightly breezy day in mid-March. We hiked about 1 to 3 pm and started from the Airport Mesa heading south where the views are the best. Going this way you have a gradual climb that does have some challenges but is not too difficult if you are careful. After you turn north you will go down and up again along the trail but the views are not as good. The trail is easy to follow and where junctions occur they are well marked EXCEPT towards the end. The trail splits going up to the right or down keeping straight. There is a pole there with two small signs but faded completely out. Three groups of hikers were looking on our phones trying to determine the right direction. We turned right going up since we all parked at the top lot but that dead ended and has been well traveled. We made a short vertical climb to Airport Road and finished walking to the lot.

Even with the cooler day it did get warm so bring your water, sunscreen, hat, and whatever essentials necessary. It’s a lovely trail & we ran into several other friendly hikers.

We hiked this trail with a 4 year old and some older adults. I would say this is a moderate trail, it’s very rocky and down hill from the parking lot by the airport. Once you get to the end you climb a trail to get atop a huge rock. The views up there a well worth the short hike. The hike back is all up hill and rocky, all together it’s about a 40 minute hike from start to finish. Definitely worth it.

Only a few parking spots at the trail head. We had to drive up to a parking lot near the airport and pay three dollars to park. Red rock parking pass does not work here. The trail is very rocky so you have to watch your step. The trail near the airport section is noisy and you can smell the airplane fuel.

be careful on this. i hiked it with my family and half turned around bc this is not an easy hike, or even safe. its so close to the edge, very rocky, narrow, slippery in parts and we were shocked it was rated easy. we are all fit and healthy. it IS beautiful but please know it is not easy! :)

We started our day at this trail around 8:30 am.
This place has two trails. They are super nice no hiking experience needed, just walking. Of course, if you get off the path it is a lot of fun!!😋
There are a few stone steps to the left when you enter the trail to see the highest part, it is well done, nothing complicated, just steps.
The views are beautiful!!!! You can take a lot of pictures here and if you have a drone and you go very early in the morning (6:00-9:00 am) there is no people and you can fly free of care 😅
The parking area is very small so you have to get there early otherwise there will be no space for your car and this is not like the devil's bridge that you can park the car on the side of the road. The road here is very tide.

Very nice views, nice trails. Extremely recommended if you want something, not too extreme. You can see this trail in about 1H.

I hiked the whole trail which was pretty easy and you can do it in sections if you wanted to. Had a fantastic sunrise experience on the Table Top trail which is worth the extra 2 miles out and back. Great panoramic views of Cathedral, Castle, and Bell Rock. I was all alone to enjoy it all and saw many hot air balloons to the southwest. Great Hike!
