Desert Monsters Tours LLC offers Off-Road "You drive" CAN-AM Maverick Trail UTV tours in Scottsdale and Phoenix Arizona. We are a fully permitted Tonto National Forest Tour company. Our tours take place in some of the most scenic parts of the Tonto National Forest. You are in the driver's seat on our ATV/UTV tours. We operate using late model CAN-AM Maverick Trail 4 wheel drive UTV's.

Def a must do when visiting the area! Highly recommend the sunset tour, you will get incredible photos. I've been hiking and rock climbing n this area of Arizona for years, but experiencing the area like this was unreal. You will see some beautiful sights! The driving was really fun and you can also switch drivers. Our guide Ken, was really sweet, he took us to a wonderful vista outlooking the Arizona wilderness + he took so many photos! Like really good photos!!
This is a great company to do it with, they provide all the saftey gear and give you really good instructions so you know what you're doing.
Tips: Dress in clothes you don't care about, you will get dusty. Wear suncreen + if you go to the sunset one make sure you have a jacket, b/c the temp drops off by 20 degrees once the sun sets.

A colleague and I booked the CanAm tour that began at 4:40pm and ended around sunset. Booking was easy, directions to the tour meeting spot were excellent and Martyn, our guide, was fantastic.
This tour was awesome for us given the location and duration. We knew we wanted to spend some time outdoors and we were not disappointed. My colleague got her “thrill” in driving the CanAm over various terrain (she admittedly would have liked to have gone faster) and my thirst for photo opportunities was satisfied. The scenery was lovely, the pace was good, it was not too difficult nor too easy for first-time drivers, and did I mention that Martin was fantastic? He was very alert to how each driver was doing with keeping up/ not having difficulty, was knowledgeable regarding the area and the wildlife, and was incredibly personable. He was very much the kind of person made to lead tours of this type.
Our significant others were jealous that we girls had gone on this adventure without them. Maybe next time! 🙂

Amazing experience! 100% recommended.
The meeting location is about 40 minutes from Phoenix and you have to be there 30min before your tour. We booked the 2-seat UTV. The tour takes you through a rocky trail, you are going flat most of the time (except for when you go up a mountain; amazing views). If you’re a beginner don’t worry, it’s not scary at all, I’m sure you can go a bit slower if you tell your guide.
Ken was our tour guide, he was always checking that we were behind him, never felt unsafe.
We did the 3:30pm tour to see the sunset, and even though it was cold (make sure to bring a jacket and long pants, it gets really cold) the views with the sunset were incredible!

Best experience ever from booking the appointment to the end of our ride. Alicia was so helpful and gave us amazing customer service with the booking and when asked if we could bring our service dog she called me right back with an answer. Directions were sent in the email along with everything that you needed to know.
We went the day after a big rain pour which was perfect because we didn’t have all the dust, just a little mud.
We had the noon time slot with Mike as our guide and we had a fantastic ride. I wasn’t too sure how fast we would go in a group but they separated into smaller groups which kept us all riding at a great pace! We stopped a few times, got to switch drivers and Mike even took pictures of us and then sent them to us after the ride. Overall, I highly recommend Desert Monster Tours for an amazing experience!!!! Thank you Alicia and Mike for making our day!!

Daniel was an excellent tour guide and was very knowledgeable. He took the time to explain the surroundings and made sure there were plenty of stops for water and pictures. The tour was very safe and we would highly recommend it to anyone interested!

We had such a blast on our tour, not only was it beautiful scenery, the sunset made the landscape even more breathtaking. I highly recommend the sunset tour! Our guide, Mike, was super knowledgeable, helpful and fun. The way he interacted with the adults and the kids during the information portion in the beginning made it welcoming and entertaining. In fact the other crew leaders we interacted with we also kind and funny. Overall it was a great experience!!

This is a must-do activity when you’re visiting the Scottsdale or Phoenix area! The 6-8pm tour slot wasn’t overly hot, and we got beautiful sunset views at the end of our tour. Desert Monsters was efficient and prepared by providing gators to wear for dust protection, snacks and water. I was personally nervous to drive at first. After letting our guide, Luke know he took the pressure off by saying I could try it and stop if I didn’t like it. He took us on a smoother leg at the end, and it was perfect for me. I’m so glad I drove! The views were beautiful, and it was great to make a few stops to take them all in. This tour was a highlight of our trip!

Our favorite part of this entire experience was our knowledgeable and experienced tour guide. Our tour guide, Megan, not only kept us safe the entire time, she also showed my girlfriend and I the best outdoor scenery we could have asked for. They provided us with water bottles/snacks, Megan briefed us on safety and following distance before the tour began. What a professional company, you can tell when people enjoy what they do and for that we’d like to thank Megan and the entire Desert Monsters Tours staff.

This was a such a fun adventure for the whole family. We have a 12 year old and 15 year old. We typically take vacations where we sit by a pool or beach and maybe a water sport here or there so this was totally out of our comfort zone. We have no regrets. It was awesome!! We got two cars so each adult could drive. We had the opportunity to stop a few times and switch drivers and/or passengers if we wanted. The UTVs are easy to drive and you really do feel safe and comfortable. Martyn was an excellent guide and gave us plenty of opportunities to stop and take pictures and did a fabulous job explaining our surroundings on those stops. You get pretty dirty on this tour. The company gives you a gator for your neck, mouth and nose , a covering for your head, and a helmet and goggles. That really helps keep the dust/sand and out of your mouth, nose, hair and eyes but there rest of your body gets pretty dusty. The company also provided baby wipes afterward to clean up which was much appreciated! You may want to wear layers if possible and bring a bag to throw your clothes in after. It was definitely worth the mess though!! Highly recommend this tour for some family fun!! Thanks, Martyn and crew!!

This was one of the most amazing views of the sunset I have ever experienced.
Mike and Kendrick went above and beyond for us.
They took pictures along the way they made sure we were safe, they were very efficient and organized.
Provided us with water and fun facts about the mountains and cactus in the area. If you were THINKING about doing this here’s your sign! JUST DO IT!
