The canal is quiet and clean. Stop and take a break or walk along the canal for a relaxing few hours.

I have been staying in the Chaparral & Scottsdale Rd area since 1991. I leave for my am walk, go down chaparral and turn south on the canal. Walk behind the Safari Drive Condos (drool) and then turn left on Scottsdale Rd and walk to Starbucks on Camelback. Then wiggle through Oldtown on way back to my hotel. So the... More

A nice restaurants around with Olive Ivy on the corner and tapas, great for an evening walk. I like the bridge and horses statues. Pretty flowers and good temperature at the evening. It would be nice if walk with cold chardoney would be allowed.::O() haha my fav part of Scottsdale.

A nice break for a walk and picnic after spending huge sums in the local shops. Guys take your woman there for a shopping break and you'll save $.

We went for the lights on the canal & were not impressed. However, it is a nice walk & park setting and many restaurants & bars along the way.

While I wouldn't compare the Scottsdale Water Front area to the River Walk in San Antonio it is a pretty good start. There are a lot of restaurants and shops along a stretch of the canal about a half mile long. The city has done a good job of creating a pedestrian area that is both beautiful and relaxing. If... We walked along the canal for a very relaxing evening. Not a lot of people and it was quiet - very nice feature in a big city!

The canal is a great running track through the middle of Phoenix and Scottsdale. Not much shade, so get out early or go late. Crosses a lot of busy streets, but usually runners get a light to cross. Multiple web sites give point to point mileage.

Enjoyable short walking path which is very scenic and flanked by nice stores and restaurants along with a famous bridge by a known artist. Don't miss it
