- Jennifer TGrand Junction, Colorado698 contributionsHigh quality galleries with lots of options. You could spend a couple of days here easy just taking your time to explore all the galleries in just a few main streets. There is decent variety with the underlining of southwestern theme of course. The number of the galleries have really high quality offerings - better and many museum. There are also plenty of places to take a break and have a snack or a meal. It you enjoy art you will enjoy this area. There is free 3 hour street parking if you can find it. Earlier in the day you will have better luck.Written March 7, 2020
- Carole MPrinceton, New Jersey26 contributionsArt on FootEnjoyed a lovely afternoon going in and our of galleries that had exhibits of a variety of art genre, not just Southwestern and Native People's art. Spend some time viewing and chatting with staff....and stop in a local establishment for a meal, beverage or sweet.Written February 1, 2020
- Donald H227 contributionsSome fine art, some not so fineThe arts district has been a staple of Old Town for awhile. Unfortunately it has fallen on hard times on the south side of Main Street. The north side of Main Street features a number of prominent galleries featuring some of the best artists in the country. They seem to be doing quite well. On the south side of Main, there were a number of galleries which had closed up. There also seemed to be a distinct difference in the quality of the art. It is not totally so as there is still a gallery featuring fine bronzes and another featuring western art that is very good.Traveled as a coupleWritten November 15, 2016

We were having a girls weekend and decided to visit. There is art everywhere you look back alleys, main street, a little park. We just parked, walk and had lunch while talking lots of pictures!!!!
I would recommend this are as a must see to anyone who wants a calm day to relax, smell the fresh air and grab a coffee or lunch. I saw lots of bicycles also.

We always go to the Thursday night Art Walk. Besides visiting the galleries, and talking with some of the artists, there is music. It is a much cooler way to explore the district at night

This is a beautiful street with many art shops, decorated in the old western style. At the end of the street is a park with live music performance on Sunday afternoons. Great relaxed atmosphere.

Every Thursday night the galleries are open from 7 to 9 pm. We try to take advantage of this each time we visit Scottsdale. It's a fun walk up & down Main St. and usually their are a few local artists present in the galleries. There is a wide range of art available from $140 to $90,000. We didn't see many people buying, but there are always interesting pieces to see. On Thursday evenings some of he galleries offer a beverage or snacks. Be sure to walk to the back of the gallery. If you need more than a snack, there are a variety of restaurants along the way. There are also musicians set up on the street corners to entertain you as you walk.

A lively, artsy fun place to visit in Old Scottsdale. Numerous high quality galleries featuring a wide range of genres. Western, contemporary, abstract and classic art in all mediums. A must visit in Scottsdale especially on Thurs. nights artwalk when music and entertainers abound , galleries offer refreshments. My favorite place to take out of town visitors

You can eat, drink and be merry. Thursday night is Art Walk-officially. You can get some snacks and free wine in many of the galleries. You will love the art, whatever your taste; they have everything! Great souvenir or gifts! There is also a AZ wine store on Main Street-Airidus for wine tasting and buying.

First time in Scottsdale or Phoenix? Downtown Scottsdale, Fifth Avenue and the Arts District are a must see. Much of the flavor of the old west has been preserved, yet many of the shops are urban chic. Something for every budget can be found in these areas including souvenirs, sweet snacks and stunning art that visitors would hang proudly in their homes.

You drive up and down two+ blocks of gallery after gallery after gallery - all different but all fun to visit. Lots of western art and everything else you can imagine! Looking for a new painting or litho or whatever for your home - if you don't find something you love, you just didn't look hard enough! Amazing place. And while there, be sure and stop in to Cafe Forte - very quaint!!!

Galleries are only open late on Thursdays. That is when music and wine etc are offered .Very social event.
If you are seriously shopping to buy fine art go during day

There is an art walk along Main on Thursday nights (not so in the hotter summer months). Most of the galleries are open there, in addition to restaurants and bars.

Until what time are most of the art shops open on Saturdays?

The best time for the art of Scottsdale is the Art Walk on Thursdays when the shops are open until 9 pm, plus many have nibbles and even wine for casual shopping and browsing.
