As mentioned, it's definitely touristy, with lots of souvenir shops, but it's also pretty neat to visit the "western" part of Scottsdale and wander around the shops, restaurants and galleries (a lot of local items). Stop by the Mission church, and be sure to walk...More
This was a nice place to explore. It’s touristy, with some very expensive galleries, but also fun souvenirs, ice cream, restaurants, and jewelry. I especially enjoyed seeing some of the Native American artwork and bought some children’s books.
If you come to Scottsdale, you need to visit Old Town. It is good for shopping, eating, and just browsing. It gives the small town feeling in the big city. We met a lot of nice people too while we were down there.

You can rent bikes and tour around the area, or even go on a bike tour (fat bikes has a tour). Last I think there are segway tours, but not 100% positive. It is a happening place for college kids, but yours are too young... More
