    Solid course
Enjoyed my round at Legend Trail very much. Course was in excellent shape coming out of the overseed. Greens were a tad slow still but will continue to get better. Back 9 has a lot of great holes! Great value for golf in AZ.

    Great value... Underrated
From check in to check out the staff was outstanding. This is a very nice course with some beautiful scenery. Reasonable greens fees and great shape. This was one of the few courses that wasn't cart path only due to overseeing this time of the year. The front nine is a little more friendly than the back. Practice areas were top notch, driving range included in greens fee. The only thing that I wish they had would be GPS on the carts. Overall I would definitely recommend this courses

    Using algorithms to set prices
Picturesque but needs work on tees and greens infested with poa anna. Overpriced including drink cart and cantina. Easter, Sunday, raining, cartpath only, is empty and still $160 for the round.

This course is way overpriced...along with many others today. The scenery is nice but the greens are too firm and fail to hold high shots on a regular basis. It's a nice course but felt there wasn't anything special about the layout. Golf courses like this should wise up and realize that there will be a time when people realize there are many better courses in the area that much cheaper. It's my first and last time to play this course.

The head golf pro is very rude. We Play there today September 27 with her grandson my wife does not play golf and wanted to ride along and they said she could not write on the card could walk for the additional $20.
I am 73 and my wife is 72 and we called ahead and they told us it would be no problem for an extra cart. When we got there we were told that my wife would have to walk and pay $20 after much discussion we finally said OK we did not wanna argue

The golf shop staff seem to be embarrassed finally the golf pro came out on the second hole and gave us a cart however he wanted to make his point about the policy and that we should read the entire website so as not to be confused in the future.
It was embarrassing and uncalled for I’m not sure what he wanted to prove we graciously said thank you even though the mistake was clearly made and he is in to begin with. The golf course was excellent in a good shape but we were so offended I would never go there again this man needs a lesson in humility and hospitality very inappropriate behavior we Felt he wanted to make his point and somewhat humiliating experience I hope the owners in the management review of these comments this was very disappointing. We teed off at 2:30 recourse was almost empty with this type of treatment I guess I can understand why.

This was definitely not the experience I was hoping to have.

We arrived at Legends with fifteen minutes to spare given the construction we ran into along the way. But we made it and were happy we had time to spare. We checked in and was able to get to the first hole with time to spare.

We saw a foursome in front of us so we stood in our tee box waiting for them to be out of our range. The starter who we didn’t even see when we drove to the forward tees then came up to us and asked us what we were doing. I said we are just waiting for the foursome ahead to be out of our range and then we will tee off. He started yelling at us stating we missed our tee time and that we were scheduled for 11:50am. I said I have confirmation of our 12pm tee time. He yelled even louder and said if we want to play at all we must catch up to the men in front of us. But I said we don’t tee off until 12pm and that is a foursome in front of us. Then the started became more angry and said that is two men who are playing and their girlfriends are walking with them and for us to either play with them or get off the course.

Instead of making a scene we caught up to the men in front of us who were now on the green. We introduced ourselves to them and their girlfriends at which time they said they were told by the starter to tee off early even though the foursome in front were visibly close and we were playing behind them each hole.

Lack of communication between the pro shop and starter and the fact that his tee sheet was wrong is not acceptable.

The course and service was not comparable at all to Lookout Mountain we played two days earlier. At Lookout Mountain we were greeted with a smile and the starter even gave all of us a pop while we were at the tee box with the other twosome. An incident happened with a couple who were behind us and it was handled extremely well and was worked in without a massive disruption.
Legend trail’s course was not in good shape as the ball hopped along the greens and was not smooth and was sparse throughout the fairways.
Unfortunately I won’t be going back.

2 days ago I looked on line for local public driving ranges. Legend Trail was on the list. I have played there before and had good experience. Tuesday the gentleman at the desk, Scottie, welcomed me and charged me $20 to go to the range. Nice experience. I went back today, same plan in mind. The guy at the desk said I could not hit balls unless I had a tee time or a Loyalty Card. Upon appealing this I was introduced to Andy, the manager. He informed me that those are the rules and he made them and he wasn't making an exception for me. There are a variety of other ways this could of been handled. This rude and unprofessional treatment was shocking. I was speechless. I would advise anyone unlucky enough ti select this course to call ahead and ask for a complete summary of all rules and do not expect a pleasurable experience. There are many other choices in Scottsdale.

Basically a parkland course surrounded by desert and residential. A few nice vistas. Generous undulating fairways, with legit bunkers guarding large firm greens. Sand in bunkers is inconsistent. Greens are good. Fairways are so-so. Grill is a “C”. A fine day of golf, but more expensive than it should be. Can play really slowly.

Before or after a round of golf on a spectacular course my family recommends a hearty breakfast or good lunch. The breakfast and lunch specials are a good value for the amount of food you get. We had breakfast with a friend from out of town and really did enjoy the food and atmosphere. The Legend Trail area is probably one of my favorite places in Phoenix so the scenery is really great and pristine. Cant go wrong with this great golf setting.

Pretty solid track at a really good price.....great practice facility (I would go just for this). It is a bit of a drive from the center of town....

Please see my blog at http://talesfromtheroad-mwalno.blogspot.com/

Arrived 1/2 hour before our tee time and the guys working bag drop and the club house were GREAT. They were able to re spike my shoes (a bit pricey at $20) before the round while we warmed-up on the excellent range.

Played from the silver tees at 6400 yards and it was a bit challenging, shot 86, but very playable.

Not a tradition desert course because there must be at least a million homes surrounding the course...and it doesn't feel like you are out in the desert, and limits the views of the mountains.

But it is spectacularly maintained, tee boxes, fairways and greens were all in GREAT SHAPE. Only down side is that it is a bit unimaginative with not much variety through the holes.

I will say the pro shop is very nice, dogs at the turn were EXCEPTIONAL, and it was a lovely experience.

A bit of a drive back to the airport (45 minutes), but I would return to play when back in the Valley.

Total - $150.00 (for two of us)

I was in town for a week, and had three rounds planned. Unfortunately, unusual and heavy rains hit the Phoenix/Scottsdale area October 1-3, and the course I was supposed to play closed due to water on the course. I looked for an alternative, and my primary options were either closed or booked until late morning. I came across Legend Trail and headed over. The staff was great and I headed out. The course was in terrific condition. The greens, yes they are large, were in great condition. Well, so were the tee, fairways, and bunkers. I spent little time in the rough so can't rate those. Due to the rain, the ball didn't roll much. Shots to the green stuck so good shots were rewarded. I will definitely paly here the next time in town.

I've played this course many times and love the experience every time. Front side is fair and kind of wide open. Watch out for the back side, especially #11. One of the toughest holes in the city. Play from the right tee boxes if you have trouble with long carries.

The course is an interesting design, but the driving range is very sad and the traps are filled with dirt, pebbles and little sand.
