These people are crooks. I paid for (2) tee times on their website, then showed up to be told the reservation "didn't go thru'" Interesting because my credit card was charged. Jim (not too bright) in the pro shop advised they would need to charge me over twice what I had ALREADY PAID. We were loyality members and have played the course many times. Yesterday was our last visit.

Mismanagement makes what should be a good experience a poor one
Nov 2019
Played many times for years but recently pace of play has been very slow and instead of managing the problem the response is some version of "It's not as slow as it seems" to "There aren't any gaps so there's nothing we can do", which are both individually and collectively false statements. Stony response from the manager, no apology for the pace or for the 5some that magically appeared on the #10 tee in front of us. Save your time and money. There are too many great golf options in Scottsdale to put up with that nonsense.

Good Golf course
Feb 2019 • Friends
We were lucky enough to have two members in our foursome. This really helped as there are some tricky and blind landing areas. The course itself is a good test of golf. Select your tees appropriately. The greens were in real good shape. Bunkers also in good shape. There was some disconnect with the clubhouse, bag drop and starter as bags were dispersed in various carts but not in the groups we requested. We got it straightened out and from there we really enjoyed the day. Beverage cart came by frequently and everyone working at course was cheerful and seemed to enjoy their jobs. We will be back next year.

Good Experience with a few Exceptions
Feb 2019 • Couples
My wife and I played Legend Trail Golf Club and had an overall positive experience. As you drive up to the club house, you will find the normal club drop off area with some nice guys there to get your equipment out of your car and onto a golf cart while you park your car. The club house is a bit small consisting of the pro shop and a restaurant. The guys behind the desk were very helpful and welcoming and got us on our way very quickly. As we exited the pro shop, we found our cart parked just a few steps away adjacent to the putting green. They have an interesting set up for putting with about three different putting areas and another set up for just chipping and sand shots. Just past those areas is a small driving range stocked with balls. After warming up, we talked to the starter who directed us to the first tee box and got us on our way. The overall condition of the course is very good with nice fairways and roughs. The greens were a bit hard for my liking but very playable and rolled true. The front 9 played fairly easy with few surprises or difficult holes. The back 9 is a bit different and more challenging, especially if you have not played the course before. A bit of warning: if your tee shot can’t carry at least 135 to 150 yards, you will need to hit off the women’s tee box or you will be frustrated with a number of the holes. I’m an average golfer and had no problem with any of these holes, but if you have an issue with your driver, either don’t play this course or play the ball forward off the front tee box. The entire course has a lot of contour (especially the back 9) so be prepared for shots that will not be on level ground. A number of the back 9 holes also are heavily trapped, so it is imperative that you fly your shot on to the green. There are plenty of restroom opportunities out on the course so that shouldn’t be a problem for the enlarged prostate crowd. If you hit a half decent ball, you should not have a problem on the course. If not, expect to be searching around in a lot of cactus and brushy areas to find your ball. Hitting off the copper tees, distance is not an issue for the average golfer, but accuracy is. A GPS with a mapping function would be very useful if you want to play this course, because there are a lot of little surprises that you can’t see until you get right on top of them. I was a bit disappointed to discover that the carts don’t have a GPS, so we used our own iPhone based program that saved us a lot of strokes. We played on a Monday and the pace of play was comfortable at about 4 hours and 10 minutes for the round. Overall, I would recommend the course as it offers interesting challenges and plays well for average to better golfers.

Lumpy Greens and poor bunkers
Jan 2019
Good track but impeded by lump greens and poor bunkers. Moderately challenging layout with generous landing areas off tee. Long carry on some holes from tee to fairway. Could be a really good course, but lumpy greens and lack of sand in bunkers made this a mediocre public course.

Beautiful views and a challenge
Nov 2018 • Friends
This course is a challenge worth the effort. Overseeding meant little roll and less than accurate greens. Expensive considering the conditions. Better to play in season.

Course was a pleasant surprise
Oct 2018 • Solo
I was in town for a week, and had three rounds planned. Unfortunately, unusual and heavy rains hit the Phoenix/Scottsdale area October 1-3, and the course I was supposed to play closed due to water on the course. I looked for an alternative, and my primary options were either closed or booked until late morning. I came across Legend Trail and headed over. The staff was great and I headed out. The course was in terrific condition. The greens, yes they are large, were in great condition. Well, so were the tee, fairways, and bunkers. I spent little time in the rough so can't rate those. Due to the rain, the ball didn't roll much. Shots to the green stuck so good shots were rewarded. I will definitely paly here the next time in town.

Love this course. Beware of #11
Aug 2018 • Friends
I've played this course many times and love the experience every time. Front side is fair and kind of wide open. Watch out for the back side, especially #11. One of the toughest holes in the city. Play from the right tee boxes if you have trouble with long carries.

A must play in AZ
Aug 2018 • Solo
Continuing my quest to golf all of the Phoenix metro area, .... Found this nice course way out in North Scottsdale and I am very glad I did.  This is definitely a top 20 course or better in the greater Phoenix area.   Bag drop was convenient and parking was very close by.  The proshop is one of the best I have seen. Very nice place with nice restrooms.   After paying up I found my bag and playing partner for the round.

The cart was very nice.  It had tees, towels, and ice.

The course and clubhouse were very very nice.  I loved the real AZ desert feel from the course with lots of desert plants.
The Tees were very well marked with Stone signs and colored horse shoe tee markers.
The grounds had top notch landscaping from tee to green.  Even the trap sand was nice.  The bathrooms on the course were awesome too.  The greens were nice and fairly divot free.
The beverage cart was running and came by at a good frequency.  I ordered up a spicy bloody mary that turned out ok.  Definitely needed more vegetation.
I saw lots of quail, rabbits and road runners.
Upon completion of the round attendants cleaned my clubs and took them to bag drop for me.
Can't wait to play here again. :)

How about some sand in the bunkers
Jun 2018 • Friends
We are 4 AZ residents, played here 6/4, always one of our favorite courses. Course in great shape, greens fast and smooth. Big negative this time (and why only 3 stars) was the condition of the green side bunkers.

Nothing but clay bottoms, and when wet from sprinklers it was impossible to get the ball "up" and onto the green. Several "line drives" across the green into another similar bunker! 3 7"s out of green side bunkers. Sorry LT, not a good review this time.
