If you’ve ever wanted to raft a river, but don’t know how, get out of the Phoenix heat on a beginner-friendly float. Discover a scenic desert oasis less than an hour from the city. Your guide steers the boat and provides fascinating facts about the flora and fauna of the unique Sonoran Desert. Your whole family can swim, play, or just relax together on this small group adventure.

Get ready to walk on water! Join us and experience the desert from a thrilling new perspective while on the deck of a Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP). Our guided SUP tour is a perfect introduction to stand up paddling. A SUP is similar to a surf board and allows for a standing/paddling form of on-water recreation and touring.

On this tour, we learn the basics of launching and landing, techniques for balancing, kneeling and standing, and how to turn and navigate on gentle water. We’ll also have a great opportunity to learn about the amazing ecosystem of a desert river, and see some of flora and fauna which make this such a unique habitat.

This tour is appropriate for anyone with good physical fitness, a willingness to learn a new skill, and a modest sense of adventure.

Explore the Sonoran Desert surrounding the Phoenix/Scottsdale metro area and get to know the beautiful and rugged landscape on a half-day Scottsdale mountain bike tour with AOA.

AOA’s guided half-day mountain bike tours take place in the McDowell Sonoran Preserve, which offers some of the Valley of the Sun’s best mountain biking trails and best views! Whether you’re looking for easy trail riding or expert technical singletrack, our guides know the trails for you.

In order to fit you to the correct bike, please provide each rider's pedal preference (flat, or clipless - spd, time Atac, egg beaters, or if bringing your own) AND each rider's mountain biking experience (how often do you all ride, what type of terrain, and where) to daytours@aoa-adventures.com

Make sure you understand that you are only getting into a raft and floating for a little over an hr. We were more than a little disappointed. You float by all the locals laughing at you in your life jackets on a paid tour while...More

I'm sorry to hear that you felt the tour you took was not what you expected. It is always our priority to explain to customers that rafting on the Lower Salt River is a very casual float tour, not a whitewater experience and we'll continue...More

I'm not much of a tour person, but if I'm going to do it, I'm doing it with AOA. The guides are professional, knowledgeable and experienced and obviously enjoy what they do. Very professional and a wonderful way to see the desert
