We were lucky enough to book a day that only had our family of 4 as a reservation for the Buggy adventure. Luke was an outstanding guide and was very patient with our family as our younger son was scared at first but Luke showed immense patience and never pressured us to keep moving along too quickly. This was our 2nd time for the Buggy Adventure with Desert Dog and highly recommend them for your adventures!

By far with was a fabulous adventure. The equipment was able to handle the terrain. The guys who ran it were incredible and made sure they gave you a great experience. Be prepared you get dirty and wet but it was a blast. The communication leading up to the adventure was excellent. I would surely do it again when we are in town. I have fabulous videos I took and photos they took as reminders. WOO HOO is all I can say.

Just arrived home to Ontario, Canada from the Fountain Hills area of AZ. We had the opportunity to reserve a Desert Dogs Tour for the Saturday morn. We rented a C2 which is sort of a cross between a dune buggy and an atv. It was $250 for the two hours for the two of us and worth every penny!! Randy, outr guide , went over all the safety issues before departure and we followed him through some of the rugged terrain of the Arizona desert. What a treat!!! If you love the outdoors and don't mind getting a little dirt on you..this tour is for you! We stopped half way and were able to switch drivers...I declined, as the look on my boyfriends face as he was driving the C2 was all I needed. Randy was very informative about the plant life and some of the crazy things he's seen in the desert! He also had nice cool bottles of water to sip on at our pit stop. When we did arrive back at the gates he even had face clothes to wipe the dust from our faces! Thanks to Debbie and Randy for making our short holiday even more spectacular than anticipated!

When I scheduled the tour, it was for early afternoon. I then booked hotel in Tucson accordingly. I got an email stating our tour was oversold and they need to move us to 10:00am. Ooook. Totally forgot about how long it took to get back up to Scottsdale. I was still going by the later time. My fault! I called Desert Dog and she tried to make other arrangements, by asking how long we would be in Arizona. We were leaving the next morning. So we were out $400.00. My 20yr old son and his “old” 45 yr old mother, would’ve loved it. My stupidity. I would just suggest if your a scattered brain lady like me, double and triple check times and places. Didn’t let it bum us out too bad. We hit a dispensary on the way up to Scottsdale, went to aquarium and then played some golf.

I participated in a tour on January 17, 2014. The equipment was in poor condition including brakes that had to be pumped constantly to keep them working and helmets that looked like they were used up in the 1960's. One individual damaged his equipment (he said due to brake issues, which is plausible). Desert Dog has persisted in trying to make me pay for the other operators issues saying the damage waiver I signed was for all buggys on the tour! This is an unscrupulous business and I would caution anyone considering them. I never ever write reviews but I feel compelled to based on this experience. Do yourself favor if you're considering DESERT DOG and find a different tour operator.

I contacted Desert Dog Adventures at the end of November (around the 30th or so), after email tag we finally spoke on the phone. I made a reservation (2 people) for January 1st and was told I would get more information and a confirmation email in a few days. Well its been roughly 3 weeks, I have sent emails and left voicemails.... no response. It makes me nervous since they took my credit card number as well, so my response is be careful!

This is our second time riding ATV's in the Tonto National park and without a doubt the Desert Dog group is the best!! Excellent equipment, safe, knowledgeable guides, beautiful country....Desert dog has it all. There is nothing as fun as riding an ATV thru a dryed up sandy stream bed! Plus last month the snow melt had streams running which we also traversed. Cool. Guides Steve & Randy were terrific. They seem like long time desert cowboys but both are northern transplants! Their skill was needed to go up & down the rocky buttes. My wife & I both rode our own ATV's which made it doubly fun for both of us.

Canceled the tour the day before. No reason given, just an email sent via TripAdvisor. Frustrating that they have the ability to cancel with no repercussions or explanation, but we the customer are held to a strict 48 hour no refund/no reschedule commitment. Now most of the other companies are booked for the weekend and we are not able to find a replacement tour. Poor customer service

We went out with a group on the dune buggy ride through Desert Dog Adventures. You can pick the length of ride you want and we opted for the shorter ride (at least one hour). Ryan and Harrison were our guides and we had a blast. We went up and down trails and got an up-close view of the cactus, critters and beautiful scenery that Arizona has to offer. The dune buggies are rugged (and have to be) and you will get dirty. But there is nothing like riding in these rigs -- going through the valleys and rivers even.

We plan to do this again just because it is so much fun and the views from the trails are spectacular.

Four of us used this vendor week of March 16, 2014. When making reservations, I asked this vendor about the full two hours-she waffled and said it could be less time. My inquiry was based on prior feedback (that the vendor shorts the time of less than two hours).
Upon arrival, we waited more than 40 minutes to get started. Our conclusion is that they book "ranges" of hours, then wait for others to show up. Paperwork and sign up only took a few minutes.
During the our tour, the rod connecting the brake disconnected. The grumpy leader said just to push the pedal back and keep driving. Stupid comment-I HAD NO FUNCTIONING BRAKES! They later tried to fix it, but said, "If you have to run into me it's ok. I've stopped people before this way." This is after they threatened to charge you if you damage the vehicle.
They later tried to fix it again and finally switched my vehicle out.
We ended up driving about 1hr 40 minutes. Fun, dirty and scenic.
BUT-equipment is suspect; leader (an older curmudgeon of a man) was rude, grumpy and not customer focused.
We are generally generous tippers during vacation, but did not tip a dime here. They didn't earn it.
Would we use this vendor again? No way. Equipment is suspect and poor customer service attitude. The four of us were not pleased at all.
