Service was ok. Must have been a bad night. Did not seem happy to see anyone. Menus had no descriptions of the wines, just types. Had to keep asking questions about wines to get information. Seemed annoyed with questions as well. Displays had descriptions that were helpful so we walked around the room more that should have needed instead of enjoying conversation and wines

Think twice before purchasing a Groupon for this establishment. If my husband and I had not been to Su Vino in the past for tastings, we may not have realized the difference in the quantities in the pours we were offered with the Groupon voucher. The voucher was good for two flights of wine and an appetizer. The appetizer was just as we had received on our last visit. However, the wine tastings were ridiculously small and not even enough to really taste. After the second of the five tastings, we asked the server if the amount iin the pour was always smaller with a Groupon deal. Stephanie, the server, commented "No, we try to keep them below the line on the glass and sometimes it is hard to see the line because it is dark in here." We could clearly see the line on the glass and the wine poured was less than half and appeared to be about a tablespoon or less and barely covered the bottom of the small glass. If you go to Su Vino, do not purchase a deal because you will not be provided the same tastings as other patrons.

Spent the afternoon there with family. Great fun for adults. Good variety of wines that you can enjoy out on the patio. The area is full of galleries that you can stroll through on your way there.

Me and 2 friends came in today using a 4-person Groupon sampler which served each person 5 1-oz samples. Our first server was really nice and patient and explained since we only had 3 people we can trade the 4th person's share of wine for a full glass. The wine was good, so we're the cheese platters. But what ruined the experience for us was the other server who gave us our bill. We reiterated to him what our first server said, since we still needed that full glass of wine. The server (Gianni) was very rude and when we simply suggested that he verify what we were requesting with the other server (which was less than 20 feet away) he rudely cut us off. His rude demeanor not only took us back, but the full table next to us was shocked as well. As a result of this we ended up not getting out 4th person's worth of wine and just paid the bill and left. If it weren't for that server I would give the place 4 stars.

I have visited this winery tasting room 4 times in the past 4 years. This visit to AZ it was so good the first time, we went back the next week. We used a Groupon that allowed for 5 tastes each (and they are generous enough for two people to share so you in fact can taste 10 wines) and it also included an appetizer. Their cheese plate is huge and a full meal with fresh cheeses, fruit, nuts and wonderful lightly garlic sesame crackers.
The staff are wonderful and attentive and answered all our questions about the wine. The tasting changes weekly depending on what wines are available. We noticed some wines we had tried the week before were not on the menu and they explained how they changed.
We thought the wines were excellent and there was something for everyone. Highly recommend you give them a try.
The reg. tasting is only $10 each (which is bottom of the pricing for any CA winery to taste) and the cheese plate was $12.95. The Groupon was $13 (on sale) so we got a heck of a deal and an enjoyable afternoon.

A friend and I took an out-of-state friend to Su Vino in Scottsdale after a morning at the Desert Botanical Garden. Like other some other reviewers, we used a Groupon. The Groupon included 2 appetizers, so we chose the cheese plate and brie with crackers. Both were huge, and we didn't come anywhere near finishing them.
Su Vino has a fairly extensive list of wines, and the ones we tasted, both reds and whites, were decent. I believe they have one white made with grapes grown in AZ.
The part of the experience that earned Su Vino a 5 rating was the server. She was knowledgeable about the product; but more importantly she was a great deal of fun! We sat at the bar and she visited with us while she did prep work.
Definitely a fun way to spend an afternoon!

Had found and bought a Groupon prior to leaving for our trip to Scottsdale. Thought this would be a nice addition to our short vacation as we enjoy wine bars and tastings.
We arrived a little later in the day and granted it was Sunday. Place was busy however & all tables were full so only option was to sit at the bar. There were 3 or 4 other couples seated at the bar as well.
Once situated two warm glasses of water were delivered... it was 90+ degrees outside... guess the ice melted!! First server took our Groupon and asked which 5 wines each we wanted to taste. I went with a selection of reds and my wife the white/fruity variants. The first taste was quickly poured and from there it went into a downward spiral.
We waited over 15 minutes for the second taster. As there were only two people on duty I'd expect some delay but I was beginning to feel ignored. A server appeared, different from the first and prepared our second taste... major error in my opinion... he poured the second taste into the same glass without rinsing any remanents from the first sample... I have never experienced this in any winery tasting room before. Always a fresh glass or at least a pitcher of water and dump container to rinse out the glass. After seeing this we reverted to using aforementioned warm glasses of water to pour into our taster glasses to rinse... no where to dump it so we had to drink it!! Typically at a wine tasting, the wine is described, outlining its dryness, flavors, etc. but not here... you're on your own...figure it out!!
Taste 3 of five was another 15 minutes as both servers were spending considerable time at a table of women or with other couples at the bar. Suppose they were paying full price rather than a Groupon offer so they deserved a little more attention.
As the Groupon also included an appetizer plate we expected at least an offer to order but didn't happen. We had to ask if we could place an order between taste 3 and 4. We selected the cheese plate which was put together at the bar out of what looked like pre-prepared little baggies of cheese & fruit.
In summary, service was horrible, wines were average at best. Glad I had the Groupon otherwise I would have been really put off spending full price dollars... maybe the service would have been better?? To complete the tasting plus on glass of wine (poured into the same taster glass I might add) took over 2 hours. Its nice to relax but...Think I'll find another location to have a glass of wine the next time I'm in Scottsdale.

We tasted the wines here July 16. We are from California and have tated some of the best wines California has to offer. Su Vino can hold their own with the California wines! We were pleasantly suprised and took home a half dozen bottles to add to our collection!!! Overall a great time and great staff. Met the winemaker! Go early so you can take your time and concerse with the great staff!

Had a great time! Staff was extremely helpful as I am new to wine! They had a variety of dry and sweet wines. If you are coming to Scottsdale, a must visit!
