The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community has built two uniquely divergent courses; golfers looking for wide-open links will be as content as those looking for traditional tree-lined doglegs.

Straighforward golf course in good shape.

Teed off around 7:30am... Was able to get an inexpensive local rate via their website. Course was in very good shape. Very busy. Final few holes were really hot.

This course is really nothing special compared to surrounding courses but it does offer 36 holes which was fun to play in one day. Staff was good. Course is in pretty good shape but the greens are slow compared to other courses we played in the area. Course was a good starter course for our good weekend and it's very... More

We played both courses in one day. Staff was competent. South Course is acceptable, North course is not. The course does not Marshall the course well. The foursome ahead of were driving on the greens and T boxes. One fellow took off his shirt and they were blaring music. This course is only interested in cash flow, not providing a... More

Booked the South course through Golfnow.com and glad we didn't pay the full rack rate of $150/person, as it truly isn't worth that. First off, the green are dry, dry, dry and putting is like putting on glass. I like fast greens but these are ridiculous. Some greens you can tell on your approach that you need to be below... More

We played the south course. It was in good shape but not someplace I would plan to lay again. They have a good practice area and their staff are friendly.

We played a round of golf on our last day and the course was in excellent condition. Having an early tee time was great as we had a really fast game and the layout of the North course was great. The greens are quite tricky but lovely scenery and great wildlife.

The Talking Stick courses are mostly flat and uninspiring. In fact a lot of the holes looked enough of the same that it was hard to distinguish one from another when we looked back after the round to recap the round. Greens were fast and rolled pretty good and the fairways were wide allowing golfers of all skill levels to... More

Played this course a lot (both N & S) about 10 years ago while I was living in AZ. Got a chance to return and the course if still a good combination of skill and enjoyment. Greens are a bit tricky for me to read but over all one of the must play causes in Scottsdale

Traveled here and thought I'd save the bag fee for airline check in. Cost $60/bag and the clubs were horrible (must be 10 years old; grips old and slippery; not even cleaned). The course is in good condition but in no way is it worth the money. It's fairly straightforward and frankly, boring.

Well it certainly is the stereotypical Arizona Desert layout you expect. Once you realise how far the ball flies in these conditions you soon forgive many of the par 4's for being close to 500 yards! The course has some great holes, many different tee options means it caters for all abilities. A large well designed range area to hit... More
