We had such a good time golfing 18 holes at Rio Rico. The people were extremely friendly and helpful. They've had the course a year and are making vast improvements. There are crew throughout the course cleaning the water hazards, watering and general maintenance. The clubhouse is nicely updated, has occasional live music and a beautiful patio, prices are very... Couldn't agree more with the previous review by Terry1240. This course is in the worst condition of any we've ever played. From reading the website it sounds as though the powers that be are working to improve the conditions but improvement looks to be years away. My husband and I both thought it could be a nice course had it... More

The course is in terrible shape: tee blocks with sparse grass, hard as a rock; fairways with only a few areas of actual growing grass; bunkers that are ill defined and not maintained; un-puttable greens that are pock-marked with divot-like gouges and some with virtually no grass at-all. It would appear to be a course with a near complete failure... More

I love this course even if the fairways and greens are not perfect. I feel at home there and I have a membership .

Well, where do I begin. This course may be in the worst shape of any course that we have ever golfed. I expected, from the pictures on their website, for it to be very nice. Especially since it is February, peak season for this part of the country. We were in for quite the shock. Just driving up to the... More

The service and the course was very nice, we were the only ones out on the course and it was great and my husband played it three times over the weekend.

This Trent Jones designed golf course is the worst I've ever known--poor conditions, dirt tee boxes, scarred, weedy, bumpy greens, lack of professional maintenance, poorly equipped club house, sad bar/restaurant...that's about everything except their staff is friendly. We didn't pay for that though. From a fellow golfer well versed in basic golf course expectations, this one will take years to... More

Okay, so let's start with the positives. The view is spectacular. NOTHING can take away from that! It is indeed out dated and quite run down, but still has a certain old world Spanish charm. It was very clean. The breakfast buffet was very good. We were allowed to check in a little early. My husband, sister and brother-in-law and... More

This course is in TERRIBLE shape. Plus, the whole course is an accident waiting to happen. Huge water filled unmarked holes with missing caps (like a man hole cover). You have to watch your step. On course bathrooms were flooded and gross. There is no grass on fairways and the greens are in bad shape. Waste of a beautiful location.... More
