A Nice Place to Stop for Info
When we were in Prescott in October, while I was strolling the town solo, I stopped into the Prescott Chamber of Commerce, just south of the Yavapai County Courthouse and plaza. Besides being in an interesting building (architecture is a thing for me), it had lots of useful info, including maps of sites, sights and all of the streets.
The folk there were also helpful to me, as I had a couple of questions on the history of Prescott, and also needed help in locating a few of the interesting buildings.
I only spent about 30 minutes there, but depending on the info that one was seeking, more time could well be spent.
I highly recommend the Chamber of Commerce as a first stop, when walking around Prescott.

Super friendly and helpful people that went out of their way to help us learn more about the area. You can tell they are very proud of their city. Tons of flyers and guide books on Prescott and other nearby cities. Great opportunity to do some research on activities.

We've just moved here so have made good use of the services offered here. They have tons of pamphlets, booklets and advice, whether you're just visiting or making the move! Additionally, we direct visitors here to get their bearings and find out about local activities. It's right on the Court House Square so easy to find and has good parking.

We found this to be the best place to stop for all area information. Staff was friendly, helpful and very pleasant to us. We found all the information that we wanted and needed, here. Even after hours, information is available right outside the entrance doors.

This was an excellent stop for us, not only do they have ice-cold bottles of water for $1 but the locals who man the counter know all there is to know about Prescott. As we come to confirm (as in, we already suspect), the lion's share of the new population comes from .... prepare yourself, this is a shocker ... California! Who would have guessed? Only the totally uninformed, I would guess.
And California has left its mark (go check out real estate prices) and maybe contributed to the fiber, character, and desirability of Prescott. Prescott Valley is a whole other animal, as it is not part of the Prescott historically rich locale. But they contribute and make it even better. Please excuse the digression (my mind wanders).
The Chamber Info office is across from the Courthouse Plaza. We loaded up on maps, real estate brochures, and every conceivable piece of info the kind representative could think to give us. And so, we ventured forth, armed to the gills and ready for exploration. Daniel Boone, move over!

We stopped in for some information and a map of surrounding trails ($1). They filled us in on biking trails in the area. Very friendly and helpful.

I always make it a point to get in here several times a year to keep up to date with what is going on about town. These people always go out of their way to make you feel like you are asking the most important fascinating questions, to which they always seem to have the answers. It is great to have a Chamber so easy to access and so helpful

We needed to find a room sat the last minute, on a busy holiday weekend and my husband got in touch with the Chamber of Commerce to bypass running all over an unfamiliar town searching. They keep a list of hotels that call in letting them know if they have rooms available. What a novel concept. Wish other towns had this same idea.

This is a must stop if you are traveling. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and very knowledgeable of the best places to go and best way to get there.
