Nice location but it reeks of Tobbaco smoke

The whole place smells so badly of cigarette smoke we couldn't stay to eat or try our hand at gambling. Considering that smoking has never bothered me, and that I occasionally smoke socially, that tells you how badly vented the place is. Too bad because it is built in a great location.

Dean - thank you for your review. I don't like the smoke either and we will make sure that it is something you never notice in the new resort/casino. Until then, we do have non-smoking area upstairs in Bucky's as well as a non-smoking room in Yavapai Casino. We hope you visit us again.

Quite honestly, I am not a gambler. We only went here to try a slot machine because we stayed at the great hotel right there. I found the casino noisy and smokey. I couldn't breathe after a view minutes. I will never go back.

Typical Casino. Prime Rib was very good to excellent. Steak was chewy, fatty and horrible! I asked for a gluten free meal and they brought my meal with bread on top! They brought me another meal that was so grizzly I couldn't eat it. (I think it was because I returned my other meal). I have been there before and got a great prime rib dinner, so I gave it a 2 star because I want to be fair. As far as the gambling goes, I have never won anything. Only lost my money right away! Not even fun to play for awhile. Guess that is just my luck!

Though it is cliched, the people who work here make Bucky's what it is and they are more than attentive. They are great! My wife and I noticed some reviews indicating that the casino is small, but I prefer intimate. We had a lot of fun playing video poker.
One thing is for certain, if you have a meal at Bucky's, you will not go away hungry. The quality and quantity of food are remarkable. We are planning to return in the spring. On this trip, we had a two-night stay at the Prescott Yavapai Resort.

Casino Visit

My first visit and everyone has been so nice. My first two pulls and I was up $300! True, it is not a huge Vegas casino with all the bells and whistles but I like it. The view from the top of the hill is amazing. I've heard machines dinging so it's paying some contrary to some reviews I have seen. I will return. Trying out restaurant now.

Budget your money wisely, because you’re gonna lose it

Do not know what the solution could be to improve this. Somethings happened the week of April 4 all of a sudden the machines are running very fast little or no payouts and generally you shuffle money and it gets very little return. I have noticed for the last three months that is very hard to win any money at the Yapapae Casino. It is harder and harder to get free games out of these machines and when you do they pay very little or not

This place is a good place to go for some fun. We played some machines and then went to eat in the restaurant. The food was quite good. It's a small place but the food and service is good. I had a really good burger and salad. The hot sandwiches are quite good. It's a good place to eat and have fun.

Never, ever go to Bucky's....this is serious
Stayed at resort for daughter's wedding. We were harrassed for 2 days by casino rent-a-cops for many many silly reasons. Long story short after 2 days they goaded my nephew into arguing with them and as he walked back to the resort they had him arrested. He was not drinking either. He is a soldier. He stood down but was punched and choked as they cuffed him. After 5 trips to court in Prescott charges were dismissed. But the redneck stff remains. Don't believe me? Go there and try and have fun.....or takeout a phone with a camera in it......watch the fun begin. Shame on Bucky's you ruined my daughter's wedding weekend and I have told everyone I know.

First thing you need to know about casinos: If it's Indian-owned, the odds are considerably worse than they are at non-Indian casinos. That's just fact nationwide.

Second, Bucky's casinos are small. Nowhere near the scale of even the oldest little casinos in Vegas or Mesquite (NV) for that fact.

Bucky's is little. It's local. It's dated. And it's depressing. Seriously. It's not just the really crappy odds and infrequent payouts and jackpots. The place just feels sad ... dreary ... cheerless.

An extensive facelift would cheer up the place some, sure. But the fact remains, as far as casinos go (and I've been to many across many states), Bucky's is low on the totem pole in atmosphere and wins.

And don't forget, you PAY for drinks here. Another damn universal rule at Indian-owned casinos. Another reason to avoid 'em.

Better to take your gambling money and enjoy a nice burger & beer at Prescott Brewing Company!!!

All in all, Bucky's sings the blues. Blech.
