The Phippen is a fine museum and well worth a stop just outside of Prescott on #89. It's even open - with reduced hours - on Sundays. Allow at least an hour's visit and don't miss the small but well stocked Museum shop.

A pleasant find north of Prescott, this museum is approached by way of scenic lakes and rugged rock formations. Well worth the trip out of town, this facility has several permanent exhibits, including a working chuck wagon display with ranch implements and historic firearms. Paintings by George Phippin, an accomplished western/ cowboy artist are featured as well as a varied... More

Our tour of the museum was suggested by a family member. It is a small museum with a focus on local western history. There is a good presentation of western bronzes and paintings by Arizona artists, some items listed for sale. Good clean bathrooms and convenient parking.

This has beautiful art and shows a lot of what Prescott, Arizona and the Southwest is all about. The level of art is exquisite. Just stop in and enjoy a nice atmosphere , with beautiful art all around. There is a easy hiking Trail just at the parking lot...go for a hike after enjoying the art!!.

Everyone should drop by the Phippin once in awhile because this wonderful local museum grows and changes. The curators have provided visitors to a visual cornucopia of western arts - organized with a professional detail. If your interests lean toward the arts the Phippen Museum won't disappoint.

We visited while in chino valley on vacation and just loved this museum! So much history about Cowboys and the old west. The paintings are stunning. We learned so much about Arizona and its rich history.

Don't miss an opportunity to be part of the Old West through the many fine exhibits here. Easy to find. In the heart of downtown Prescott near the court house. Loved the stories of the sheriff's and the hangings.

My wife and I visit Prescott often, but had never put visiting this museum on our to do list. We finally went this week. We thoroughly enjoyed the Western artwork and displays. Currently there is a special exhibit on cowgirls that is most interesting. We're so glad we finally have visited this impressive museum.

My husband, who is wheelchair bound, and I visited the Phippen last week and were almost as pleased with the open, disability accessible floor plan as we were with the excellent collection and wonderful special exhibits. Our docent was not only welcoming and well informed but understanding of our special needs, and she made the whole visit especially enjoyable. Thank... More
