About
For 19 years we have organized and guided hundreds of backpacking trips to the Grand Canyon and surrounding desert Southwest. Now we have expanded our tours to include more lodge-based hiking tours, like our Northern Arizona Highlights of Prescott, the Grand Canyon South Rim and Sedona, and our Southern Utah Highlights Tour of Bryce and Zion National Parks. Our Prescott Area Adventures have something for everyone: year round guided tours in the mile high city now include Guided Mountain Biking, Guided Dayhikes, and Winery and Brewery Tours of the local area. Combine any or all of the tours above with a Guided Rock Climbing day and you will surely have a weekend to remember.

We had a large group of ladies (10 total) that wanted to have a fun wine tour experience as part of a bachelorette party and we had such an amazing time with Matt and his wife on this tour!! We visited 3 different vineyards and they were all WONDERFUL! Each winery had snacks prepared for us upon arrival and of course the wine was absoluetely amazing :) This is the perfect tour for a large group that wants to taste wine! Matt and his wife were so laid back and made the tour worry-free and most importantly...FUN!! We would ABSOLUTELY recommend Rubicon Outdoors wine tour to anyone!

Thank you! You were a fun group of ladies. Marieta and I are so lucky to have such great wineries to take folks. Page Springs Cellars, Oak Creek Vineyards and Javelina Leap Vineyards are such a pleasure to work with. We hope to see you all on another Prescott Area Adventure!

Could not have been a better day with our guide, Bill. A local legend-everything about our trip was well executed and safe. Planning was easy, great email communication with Bill and the Rubicon staff. On arrival, everyone was super pleasant and their gear was in good, working order. We went out to a local area, the Dells, for an excellent day of climbing. Bill was patient with the both of us and gave us extra at the end in the way of a memorable rappel experience. Overall this place really has its act together!

Thank you Matt for taking me and my sisters on the Page Springs wine tour. We loved staying in Prescott and being about to still visit the 3 wineries. It was a great way to spend Saturday.

My daughter and I went to Prescott just for a couple of days. Matt made the preparations so easy for a 1/2 day rock climbing adventure. Kevin was our guide and made both my daughter and I feel very comfortable. He was obviously incredibly knowledgeable, but also fun to be with and kept us very active all day. Not only did we rock climb, we also repelled and at every turn the day was a blast!!

There were a group of five ladies for a bachelorette trip and we were looking for a wine tour that could pick us up and drive us safely to and from the wineries. I found this particular one online and the communication process and actual event was a complete breeze and exactly what we were looking for. We were staying in Prescott and they picked us up around 10 am and we returned roughy around 4pm. Our host was Abby and as we found out the owner Troy had also came along to see what the tour had to offer. We had such an amazing time! Our first stop was Page Springs and the view here is absolutely gorgeous. We actually witnessed an engagement as we were here and it added to the joy of the bride to be in our group. We also visited Oak Creek and Javelina Leap. The tastings were not rushed and food was provided at every stop, even cheesecake! The hosts were so much fun and laid back and it was the perfect environment we needed given our weekend. I couldn't of asked for a better group and we are already planning the next trip. If you are looking for a wine tasting in the area, look no further! I highly recommend Rubicon Outdoor Day Tours! :)

My 15 year old son and two nephews and I just returned from visiting and hiking Grand Canyon and we all had a great time.We stayed in Mather's campground for 3 nights and Jed our wonderful guide and chef made things a lot easier and fun for us.
He was very knowledgeable and we had a tough but successful hike.
Thank you Jed ,Rubicon and alpinehikers.

8 teenagers and 2 teachers from Indiana, with little to no climbing experience could be a difficult task, however, Rubicon's team was phenomenal! We had a full day climbing experience with two excellent and professional guides. They went above and beyond the expected time and interaction to ensure that every kid ended on a "high" note. As leaders of a Montessori group, we often encounter adults that don't treat teens with respect, but that wasn't the case here. Their interaction was authentic and meaningful. This was an outstanding experience, and one I would recommend to anyone.

We had a fun and educational experience climbing with our guide, Bill. Bill is a wealth of knowledge tailored the day to suit our needs. Being new to climbing we found his teaching methods very effective. Some in our group were a bit uncomfortable going into the day but Bill created a safe and comfortable climbing experience that had everyone enjoying themselves immediately. I'd recommend Rubicon Outdoors and their guide Bill in particular for anyone - from beginners to experienced climbers - looking to learn or improve on their climbing skills!
