Great place to practice your kayaking with younger children.

This is a really excellent little lake up in the pines of Prescott. Their kayaks were in good condition and they had PF D's for everyone. The price is pretty good, and although I... read more

This is a really excellent little lake up in the pines of Prescott. Their kayaks were in good condition and they had PF D's for everyone. The price is pretty good, and although I don't think there are as many places to investigate on the lake as you would find at some of the other lakes around here, it was... More

A very scenic lake inside the forest. The entry road of this forest/lake is also breathtaking. A very beautiful place for relaxing, fishing, picnic or any kind of family gathering for all ages. There are many bbq spots for various size of group. Though the swimming is not allowed here. Car entry fee is $3.00. Open time: 6AM -10PM.

Drove down to see the lake. The parking lot was full but the attendant allowed us to drive down to the lake. I did not get out, but there was a beach. You could rent kayaks. The area was small but would be great to take the kids to other than on the weekend. Double check, but you may not... More

Yesterday we enjoyed Lynx Lake and today we checked out Goldwater Lake. Goldwater is much prettier with more spots to chill out and many more parking spots. There are two playgrounds, some new large ramadas, and canoe and kayak rentals available. We watched a lifeguard/swimmer rescue some young children who were being blown away in a canoe.

This is a nice alpine lake with fishing and non-motorized boating. Large ponderosa pines surround the lake. It is a popular destination and can be busy at times. Wonderful spot for a picnic.

Goldwater Lake is a great place to get away from the summer heat. This beautiful day use area had a lot to offer for the whole family. You can hike, kayaking, paddle board and, course fish. Fish from your boat or on the shore. It has lots of picnic space and group areas. They have seasonal kayak rentals. The grounds... More

A short scenic drive to a good get away. Well kept grounds and fun for the kids, plus hiking, picnic, fishing or just relaxing. We visited on a day of a school outing and 3-4 bus loads of active kids was a joy to watch having a good time. It will surely be on our schedule on our next visit... More

While Watson and Lynx get all the press, Goldwater is a short drive out of town and wonderful. It is an alpine lake setting with lots of pine trees and natural forest. This is a great place for a picnic, a kayak or just a stroll. I have had a nap or two as well! There are clean restrooms, picnic... More

Goldwater Lake has something for everyone, whether you like to hike, fish, canoe or kayak, picnic, take pictures, have an outdoor event, be out in nature or want a great place for kids to play. Popular with locals, this lake is busy in the summer or on weekends in the fall and spring. Not a big lake, there is a... More
