We took a sunrise balloon flight at a weekend, so needed to be at the office for 5.15am. We found it relatively easily and went into the office, but were standing there for nearly 10 minutes before someone came in and asked us if anyone had welcomed us, although they had clearly seen us and knew we had arrived because, initially, we had tried to park the car at the back of the building and had been asked if we could move to the front, where someone would 'sort us out'. We were then ushered into the hanger part of the building, where coffee and biscuits were available. Again we were all left to our devices for about 10 minutes until someone came and gave us the safety briefing (very good) and told us how the flight was going to be organised. A slight detour because the flight site was changed at the last minute - not the fault of the driver, who apologised - and we turned up to a busy site where two or three companies were all busy trying to inflate and launch their balloons. There were maybe 15 balloons all waiting to be launched. We had been warned that the inflation would take about 20 minutes. In fact we wonder whether this is once the burners are on, because it seemed to take quite a bit longer than that. We are both keen photographers and, with lots of other balloons on the same site, all at different stages of inflation, we didn't mind the time, as we took the opportunity to take lots of photos. In the end it was close to 7.00am before we finally got up in the air and the sun had risen. The flight was wonderful, our pilot was informative when asked questions but seemed to understand that most people just wished to be quiet and take everything in. So quiet and peaceful up in the air, and we could see for miles. Very smooth in every way. The landing was textbook, we just floated down very gently, no bump at all as we touched down. The crew had followed in the truck and had to then pull the basket over to a large patch of land where the balloon could be laid out once deflated. Breakfast in the desert was scrambled egg and fried steak in tortilla. Very tasty, but having been awake since 4.00am, it would have been nice to have more than one tortilla. This may have been down to the fact that we were basically a group of strangers and everyone was being rather polite about how much they helped themselves to, although it did look as if the bowl of tortillas only amounted to about one each. My other half noticed that there was plenty of steak left. A couple of bottles of bubbly made into a desert cocktail and then left for us to help ourselves to whilst the crew packed up the balloon. This is by no means a negative review, the flight was absolutely wonderful, a once in a lifetime experience; it just involved rather a lot of us standing around, feeling a tad abandoned and uninformed as to what was happening; particularly when we first arrived. If a member of staff could have been assigned to 'customer care', it would have made the whole experience five star.

Everyone at Float was professional, courteous and patient. Everything from the office decor to the balloon/basket was a cut above the rest. Look no further. You will not be disappointed.

I bought a flight for myself and my wife for her upcoming birthday. The crew was professional and made us feel at home. We were treated like family and great care was taken to make sure we had everything we needed including an extra blanket as it was chilly that morning. We started off with a light breakfast of coffee and home baked cookies. At the flight site, we were amazed at all the effort it took to get the balloon ready for flight. The crew went over safety instructions and we soon boarded the basket. The flight was ultra smooth thanks to our very experienced pilot who was not only personable, but very well knowledged in the history of Balloon flight. When we landed, they had set up a long table for us and served breakfast burritos with Carne Asada. It just doesn't get any better! We had a champagne toast as well. We definitely recommend Float Tours and will be back again!

In researching hot air balloon tours for our honeymoon I learned two things. One- there are operators who cater to the normal crowd and Two- there are operators who value experience, end to end quality and top notch staff. First, we had a small hiccup, riders cancelled on the day we were going, the owner personally called me to reschedule and ensure we were put on the day/ride we wanted. (For context you need X number of people for weight/balance on the balloon) The staff are excellent and clearly value every single guest. From the way they inform and prepare you for the ride, to trying to show you every aspect of not only what they do but why it matters. By the time you get up in the air you feel like you took in a mini-hot air balloon lesson. The ride and pilot were great, the perfect length and great scenery. The breakfast we had was grand, and it was fun sharing with the group. Imagine an upscale picnic, the fare was quite good. Overall I would highly recommend Float. Don't bother going with another company, go with the best.
