Extraordinary way to see big cats and other animals up close to photograph them as part of a group with special access. This is over and above any other zoo trip I have taken as a member of general public, for general access, up close interaction is always iffy.

Reeder does her best to prepare attendees for the experience and engage in positive active coaching during the photoshoot. Sometimes our subjects just don't cooperate and sometimes we mess up the shots with our cameras. But following her direction at least minimizes photographer operator error.

I have done a number of guided photoshoots involving various nature genres. And, all things considered I believe Reeder puts it all together better than any I have seen so far. Her preparatory material is high quality.

IMHO, if attendees want to maximize such a quality experience like this, they have a significant responsibility to review the material furnished in advance and practice in advance. Practice the camera settings especially since some may have never been attempted before. And, most important, practice keeping the critters in viewfinder with point of focus where you want it to be. Doing this with moving subjects is harder than it looks.

Opinions vary. But in some circumstance I personally would have preferred to experience more time with carnivores than with the hoofed critters, as majestic as the later can be. All in all, for photographing the animals, this is better than searching the African wilds for subjects to shoot. How many days would one spend finding the number of subjects that one did in the one day workshop? My guess is significantly more with greater probability of not finding animals to successfully photograph.

Bottom line, would I do this again? Absolutely.

This was my first experience trying out wildlife photography. The workshop works with Triple D Wildlife, which is a game farm that provides the animals to be photographed. You are in locations and habitats that puts you in close proximity to the animals providing a unique photography experience. The animals are well cared for, and the trainers are very experienced. Kathleen is passionate about wildlife photography, and it is contagious. She provided excellent hands on instruction throughout the workshop, constantly providing tips and tricks. The workshop size is kept small to allow kathleen the ability to work with everyone as needed. Workshop days scheduled anywhere between 3-6 sessions depending on the weather. Overall, an excellent experience, highly recommend for anyone interested in wildlife photography.

Kathleen is an amazing, passionate and professional wildlife photographer. She recently spoke at our photography club. Her presentation and visuals were topnotch. Some of our members have also attended her workshops and have come away thrilled they took the time to attend.

I attended Kathleen Reeder's workshop at the Arizona Desert Sonora Museum in Tucson this past weekend. Excellent experience! Kathleen did a wonderful job helping each of us get the best shots by sharing her knowledge of optimal camera settings, as well as providing tips of how to position ourselves to get the best results. She was very kind and patient with everyone. She also knew tricks to use to get some of the animals' attention. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend attending any of her workshops!

This was an amazing photography workshop! We were allowed to enter the park three hours before the general public, and had access to areas that the general public were not allowed to go. Kathleen Reeder was a wonderful guide and advisor, letting us know which lenses would be the best for what we were photographing, and helping with settings. Brittany, our driver, was excellent, and went out of her way to help us get the best shots. We were fortunate to be able to meet the owner, Dean Harrison, and his wife, Prayeri. When you go, I highly recommend Dean's book, Return to Eden, which you can find in the gift shop. I highly recommend Kathleen's Photography Workshops. The entire experience was the best!

The Wildlife, Horses & Raptors in Winter Snow Photo Workshop at Triple D Ranch in Kalispell, Montana was really great. Despite record breaking cold temperatures (mostly -20 and -30 degrees) the Triple D team and Kathleens team did everything they could to make this a successful week of shooting. I came away with over 10,000 photos of about 20 different wildlife and owls that I would probably never see on my own. The Triple D team bent over backwards to keep us completely safe and reasonably warm while bringing out the many different species. It was great to see how healthy/happy the animals were, how much the trainers love their jobs, and how great they all work together as a team. What a great experience overall and one that is worth repeating anytime but especially at a different time of year, i.e. like Fall color season. I can't thank everyone enough. This gets my highest recommendation.

Three of us attended Kathleen's December Winter Wildlife in Grand Teton National Park and it was fabulous! I can't say enough good things about this experience. Being in a small group makes all the difference in the world - one on one instruction as needed, flexibility in what to photograph each day, smaller vehicle, etc. From her personal pick up at the airport, Kathleen was the perfect host, instructor, driver, navigator, and dinner companion. With safety always paramount, we got to photograph moose, bighorn sheep, a wolf, and trumpeter swans. And knowing that we also enjoy doing landscape photography, Kathleen gave us plenty of opportunities to shoot some of the classic/iconic locations in the park. It's an experience we will long remember and have already signed up for another one of her workshops!

This was my first photography workshop with Kathleen Reeder. What a great experience. Kathleen was highly organized, easy going and extremely helpful. She did an excellent job at making sure that all of the photographers would have a successful experience and a wonderful time. Lee and McKenzie Greenly at Minnesota Wildlife Connection are special people, they treated me like a close friend of their family. They really worked hard to provide photographers with the best possible shots. The beaver layout was very realistic, I regret not taking any photos. I highly recommend this workshop.

Kathleen Reeder and Out of Africa presented an amazing workshop. We were up bright and early and were able to access areas that aren't permitted to park visitors. The park provided a wonderful guide as well.

Signed up for the one-day "Out of Africa" photography workshop with Kathleen Reeder in November 2021. This was my 2nd trip to OOA with Kathleen and just like the first time did not disappoint. Kathleen is a great trip leader and makes herself available to help with camera settings and suggestions for composition. Out of Africa is a wonderful place and you can tell the animals are well cared for. One of the best advantages to taking this trip with Kathleen is the early morning admittance to the park (arriving while still dark) to get the early morning light and be accompanied by a park trainer for up close access to lions, leopards, mountain lion, tigers, and more! An amazing experience for the amateur and experienced photographer alike. Can't wait to take more trips with Kathleen and I'm sure I'll be back to OOA with Kathleen again (and again)!
