I was so surprised at all of the fun things for kids at this park/rec area - most of it is free!
Cute duck pond, fun splash pad, great playground equipment - really nice ramada areas for rent with grills.
Really nice gym and skate park too.
very well kept, clean and seemingly safe. Lots of families enjoying the amenities.

For about a dollar a day this is a great little public gym. It's new and very clean. There are treadmills, elliptical machines and all the weight machines and free-weights you need for a good work out. There is an indoor track as well. Looks like there are aerobic and dance rooms too. Residents pay $30 a month visitors pay $36. Place was built with public money. There is wi-fi, public computer use and clean bathrooms. Outside is a park for kids, a lake to fish and dozens of public BBQ grills. Inside there are rooms to rent for meetings etc. There is day care.

Vietnam war memorial moving wall. A beautiful display. “Vietnam war memorial moving wall” .. Awesome. My friend had a couple of Vietnam War Hero friends and acquaintances who were listed on this wall of many, thousands of names. Even though the weather was hot, in the 💯 degrees, there were a lot of people viewing the wall over the hour that we were there. Quite unique and impressive. This moving wall memorial to Vietnam-was placed near “the veteran memorial and Huey Vietnam helicopter” at Rio Vista park. Bravo, PEORIA, AZ .

I usd to take my Children with my Mother in law almost once a week. I did how ever never liked the huge Rocks they have in the water park area. Well one day we were about to leave and i changed my daughter in to her dry Clothe. I called my Son to me and while he was on his way to me he slipped and feel and hit his head on this stupid huge rock that was right next to the seating area. Trust me i was so freaked out and very mad at the same time ( by the way i am not one of these Parents who dont watch there children!) I had to take him to the Er and he had to get 4 Stitches and his Gash was pretty deep . Seriously what architect puts Rocks that can hurt Children into a play area where kids can slip and fall because its a water park??? We have not gone there since. Now the Play area on the other side of the Park is great.

Rio Vista rec center is a fabulous place when the children are in school. BUT, on the weekends, summers, and holidays it is only 1 star. They say they are a good family place, but do NOT take your small children here!!! The language of the teens/young adults on the BB court is awful. I have complained multiple times to the staff on duty and written an email to the manager--who completely ignored it!! I no longer take my son with me to walk on the track because the language he is exposed to is unacceptable. Last weekend, there were 2 teens playing a vulgar rap song and singing along with it on the computers right in front of the check-in desk and no one was doing anything about it. I tried to walk by quickly, but my son still noticed it. The floor supervisor was trying to keep the kids from loitering and bouncing the basketball on the track, but they just ignored her. They should be kicked out! I like kids...I am a parent and a teacher. The staff here needs to clean up the behavior and language of the unsupervised children they allow, but they did not even respond to my email about it and it has only gotten worse.

We love all the walking trails, the BBQ area, fishing, baseball fields, volleyball, skate park, military memorial. Clean, plenty of parking. Enjoy watching baseball games. Seasonal splash pad and kids swings, climbing. Great relaxing park.

One of our favorite places to go to relax, walk, bike ride, take our grand daughter, or exercise. Great for all ages, couples, family, or just yourself. Besides the rec center, that is itself really nice, there are paved surfaces for walking, jogging, and bike riding-and you choose the distance. There are also beautiful ponds with fish- and yes, you can fish here, ducks, etc.. The ponds have fountains and water falls. There's grills and tables for your use, and children's playground area, water pad, rest room facilities, skate board park, and ball fields.

Nice trails all around. The park was very fun for the kids (4 & 13yr old). We chased birds and watched the ducks. A little disappointing that we can't feed them. :(

The Rec Center looks pretty amazing. Didn't go inside but saw they have all kinds of things to do besides the gym.

They have a little splash pad area which I'm assuming is open during the summer. They are constructing a bbq area near the playgrounds that looks great so far.

We, (my wife, dog and myself) are so lucky to have such a wonderful facility near our house. The Rec Center has everything you may want for exercising. The facility is clean and well maintained. The park has everything from a skateboard bowl to fishing lakes, athletic fields, volleyball court, even horseshoe pits. The city of Peoria should be very proud of this wonderful, well maintained park.
