As of May 16, 2021, only open on Saturday and Sunday; 12-4pm. We made a reservation and had lunch in the grotto. Pros; fantastic setting; good food and excellent service in dining grotto.

NO SOCIAL DISTANCING! BEWARE SENIOR CITIZENS! Going to the grand canyon caverns we and the other 7 people with us were all wearing masks in the beginning of the tour but crammed in a small elevator! Then at the end of the tour everyone including tour guide took off their masks! My dad who is 70 years old was slow and the tour guide didn't want to wait for him. He said "we shouldn't have signed up for the tour if we can't walk" up the steep paved incline. He also said he would come back for us and we would take the next elevator ride. I didn't want my kids and dad crammed in an elevator with people not wearing masks!

Off the beaten path! The caverns are very interesting. Loved the story of the toddler sloth bear. Guide good but seemed like he was a bit new, had information down but only a bit of personal insight. It is up and down so if you have any knee issues let them know. April thru Oct. Is their busy season. Restaurant is FABULOUS! Fresh food, made with care and love! Hamburgers were cooked perfectly and pickles delicious! Fries oh my love them planks! Had huge pies as well! Just too full from lunch!

This is worth taking in, learn lots of interesting facts. While down there the guide turns out the lights, you cannot see anything. Pretty scary. Was glad when the lights came back on.

Visited Grand Canyon Caverns on my Rt 66 trip. Although the caverns are amazing, the place itself is sad and run down . I took the 45 min tour . Dino, our guide, told joke after joke (even some inappropriate ones) and seemed to know only memorized knowledge of the caverns. Even when he got no response from the people on the tour he continued with his comedian act. Unless you want a comedy show, you may want a different guide. He was always 2 steps ahead of the crowd as we rushed through the tour. I think the caverns are amazing, just be prepared if he is your guide.
