DO NOT BOOK. This review is for Patricia. Patricia, its generally bad practice to lie to your customers faces. The entire 10 hours my family was with Patricia, she refused to communicate reasonably with us. After we were directed to turn around and return to the lodge after heading to the river, the first thing Patricia told us was that there was a mix up and asked if we could come the next day. When we said no and expressed distress, she rolled her eyes and told us "to not get upset." Patricia, when tourists travel far and wide and spend hundreds of dollars, it's generally upsetting to figure out we will not be able to go on the excursion we planned months in advance for. It is very rude to tell us not to get upset in such a tone and not a good way to start the trip. When we asked what had happened, she told us she double-booked us, which come to find out was a total lie. We had confirmed our trip with her the night before and the van driver confirmed with us we were the only party being driven that day. Come to find out, what had happened was our riverboat had come loose at some point and floated downriver. However, we had to figure this out ourselves because Patricia refused to tell us anything beyond very vague words, even when we explicitly asked to know what had happened. She also asked her crew to keep it a secret from us. Had she been truthful at the outset, we would not have been so disgruntled. After waiting 30 minutes for her to "go talk to someone" she called the driver and asked him to "take the scenic route and stall for her. Everything was just very sketchy from the outset and we just wanted to know what was going on. Instead, she sent us to the river and then "joked" that we were not able to go when we arrived. Patricia, I'm not sure in what world you would think that is a funny joke. Then, she lied to my face when I asked if it was still going to be my family of 4 in the boat (we had specifically arranged for a private tour) and she said yes. We got on "our" boat and 8 people quickly joined us. It was only when we came upon an abandoned boat in the middle of the Colorado River when we figured out what happened. Neither she nor her daughter told us anything, just moved their stuff into the boat and told us to get on. There was 0 communication. Patricia lied again when she later said the boat was there because she was attempting a rescue of another boat. These were all just flat out lies, one after the other. Toward the end of the trip, she said the end was about 20 minutes from the sandbank we were at. 45 minutes later, we asked how long was left. Both she and her daughter said "just around the corner." This was another lie because there was still 20 minutes left. It's honestly astonishing that she thought we believed anything she said. Next time you decide to lie to your customers, Patricia, I suggest thinking of an airtight one. Customers do not like to be misled or lied to. Honestly is the best policy.

Patricia and her daughter “Tiny” were amazing. We had an excellent time going down the white waters of the Colorado river in the middle of the grand canyons. It was so nice to have the small intimate group and were lucky enough to get the boat all to ourselves... We got the opportunity to learn about the canyon, wildlife and the Hualapi tribe. It was so much more then a boat ride, but an experience we will remember forever.

Patricia is the founder of GC9 Rapids and has 20 years of experience on the river. Her side kick was her daughter Alicia (Tiny) who took care of everyone making sure they were safe and comfortable. This trip is a must for anyone who wants to experience the Colorado river! The first half of the trip we rode a wild ride through rapids, getting thrills and soaked. The second half was peaceful with warm sunshine and views of majestic canyon walls. We stopped three times. Two times for short hikes to see beautiful waterfalls and one time for snacks and warm up while the crew added a second motor to the raft. We ate a floating lunch, which was a delicious taste of the Hualapai version of a taco. It was heaven on Earth to be held by the river, warmed by the sun, all while enjoying good food with great people.

The GC9 rafting trip was the most memorable experience at the Grand Canyon. I owe this once in a lifetime experience to Patricia for making this happen. My kids spring break was before the season started and she made an exception and put her team together to take us out for a day of amazing memories. This was a trip that we will never forget. The team were all experts. Dennis, Dennis, (there were 2 :) Gina, and Patricia shared a lot of history about the Grand Canyon and made stops along the way to show us the beauty of the Grand Canyon. Patricia shared the Hualapai hospitality by making us warm hot chocolate and delicious soup. I attached a few pictures, but they don't give the view justice. You must see the inner canyon with your own eyes. This is a must do, the one-day rafting trip or the overnight trip, if you are in the area. We stayed nearby at the Grand Canyon Caverns & Inn. Its only few miles down the road, so makes an early morning start a little better to be close by.
