It was a long, but interesting drive from Tucson, and there were many birds and birdwatchers at the feeders. It was interesting to learn how this preserve came to be, but I suspect we chose the wrong time to visit. Our drive was made more...More

This area is really a private residence with literally tons of feeders for several types of birds including hummingbirds. We saw a bunch of Gold Finches and only one hummer. I think it was the wrong time of day for hummingbirds. There is no fee...More

Great stop. Sit down, spend a while and you will see countless species and varieties. The One place to spot the Purple Crested Hummingbird. And more than one!! Plus lots of others. Spend at least an hour. Maybe two. Maybe more!!

At the feeders were a variety of busy birds. The brightly colored birds with stunning yellows caught my eye. Not the time of year for hummingbirds. Peaceful setting and the day that I was there, there were only a few other visitors. Wonderful place!!

This is the yard of a family who has feed hummers and other birds for years. Tucson Audubon has taken it over now but it still seems and feels like we are visiting someone's home. We all loved the birds and how close we were...More

Just a quiet backyard next to a preserve. Shade canvas and chairs for visitors. Lots of feeders for birds. And, a LOT of good birds. And, the promised Violet Crowned hummer was indeed there. Lovely!!

Maybe it was the time of year we visited 10/15 but the property is just a home with a tent in the backyard to view several feeders. It's rather unkempt and strange.

If you have come to watch hummingbirds then this is the place to visit. There are quite a few feeders of different shapes and sizes and no end to the visitors using them. We stayed for over an hour watching and chatting with some of...More

This is a long term treasure. A recent change in ownership is allowing upgrades that make the bird watching experience even better.

It is a small area that really is set up for quiet bird watching. Though I don't think a small dog on a leash would be too much of a problem space-wise, quiet and less movement is appreciated as birders would like what they... More
