Lake Patagonia State Park

A unique feature in the desert. It is worth the drive to see. Easy access south of Patagonia and northeast of Nogales. Good camping and trails. There are even catfish in the lake.

A gem in the hills, the lake is great for a swim, for fishing, of small boats, kayaking, camping, and sunning at the beach. Its busy on summer weekends so I like to go during the week. Camp sites for RVs can be reserved. Real nice hikes give great views. The trail along Sonoita Creek downstream from the dam is... More

We were in a Roadtrek CS Adventurous. Campsite - 4/5 - not particularly level & limited number of sites with lake view, very quiet Washrooms - 4/5 - clean and easily accessible Amenities - 4/5 bird walks and pontoon boat tours, convenience store onsite Staff - 5/5 - very friendly and helpful volunteers

Sometimes I don't like writing great reviews especially when it comes to treasures like this one because it's already getting hard to book a camping spot here, but this place deserves a good review. The staff here is incredible and so willing to share their knowledge of the area. They work so hard to keep the trails accessible, I watched... More

Our most recent visit to Patagonia Lake State Park was disappointing. As my family lived in Patagonia for over 30 years, I have been there on many occasions. The first difficulty was the cost. I understand that this fee helps maintain the park and helps to keep loiterers out, but as our group came in several vehicles, it ended up... More

This is truly an oasis in the Sonoran Desert. Take the turn off the highway to the park and pay the $15 or $20 fee and enjoy. You can take guided hikes and guided birding pontoon tours. Or you can just sit and watch the birds feed at the feeding station or walk through the marsh and riparian ecosystem. Don't... More

We took the boat tour of both ends of the lake. The ranger and birder knew their stuff and we enjoyed what they told about the lake and the birds. Fun for all ages.

Beautiful lake, RV and camping, boating, hiking, fishing - great outdoor experience. The walk through the woods watching for Elegant Trogans was refreshing and stimulates the senses. Solitude or family fun in one place. Enjoy1

This isn't an overly large State Park but it is clean, quite and well maintained. For Rv's the camp sites are level and easy to drive into/back into and have water/electric, picnic table, fire pit and lots of trees. There is a small general store and boat ramp and you can rent boats as well. There is a small swimming... More
