Water in the desert is a wildlife magnet, so Patagonia Lake St Pk is a natural, plus they cater to birders. Nice little visitor center staffed with friendly volunteers, an up to date list of birds recently seen, and a handful feeders just outside (saw a half-dozens species right there). Great, easy trail at end of campground that leads through... More

Managed by the state of Arizona. Small lake, camping, limited boating. $15 for a day pass seems a bit steep.

Camped in 35 foot RV. Beautifully maintained campground but lake with boating, swimming with access to trails is the best part. Peaceful and beautiful.

We stopped by the campground to see if we might want to camp here in the future. It is a beautiful campground with a lovely lake and surrounding hills. We talked to Chris at the vistor center. She told us about the tours they have during the first few months of the year. They have guided birding tours and a... More

We went in December and found the Park and Staff so friendly and helpful! From Patrick's Birdwatching Tour on one end of the lake to Keven's helpful information in the visitor center and the Birding Boat Trip, we really enjoyed this State Park. While we were day visitors, the campgrounds looked clean and relaxing. There were bird feeders, benches and... More

$20 to get into the park for a day pass is a bit much, but the place is great and beautiful. I quickly visited the visitor center and then headed to the birding trail. I walked the trail for a few hours heading up the Sonoita Creek and enjoyed the hike. The feeder station area had a lot of birds... More

Drove over to the state park and enjoyed the beauty of the lake area. Lake is very clean and the park staff was very friendly. We pull a 40 ft 5th wheel and we're hoping to camp here in the future. There are only a few sites long or wide enough. One interesting note...they have boat sites. Market and gas... More

Park charges $15 to enter for over 15 minutes. Nice hiking trail but overrun with cows!?! Interesting wetlands with lots of waterfowl. Good birding area.

A gem in the hills, the lake is great for a swim, for fishing, of small boats, kayaking, camping, and sunning at the beach. Its busy on summer weekends so I like to go during the week. Camp sites for RVs can be reserved. Real nice hikes give great views. The trail along Sonoita Creek downstream from the dam is... More
