We visited this state park specific for birding. This is very busy park for other recreational purposes (e.g. camping, picnic, hiking, fishing, etc.) The park has good facilities (e.g. boat ramp, general store, visitor center, a lot of bathrooms, trails, etc.) We only stayed here for a couple of hours but I can definitely see spending the nigh in camp... We have been camping here for years and its nice to see that money put back into the area. Would like to see improvements to campsites. Very busy during summer weekends as it is closest lake to swim and fish in the area.

Patagonia Lake is a fun place. Dogs are allowed on leashes. Boats of all kinds can be rented although the prices are hefty- $35 per hour for a 4 man canoe. There is a sandy beach area with a roped off swimming section. This is fun for families. We rented a boat-in-campsite and then rented a canoe. We packed in... More

My adult daughter and I went birding here 3 or 4 times, and always enjoyed it. We did not see the Elegant Trogon, but did see many new birds to beef up our life lists.

Our visit here was a nice surprise. The park and lake have plenty to offer, with camping, boating, fishing, hiking, bird watching, picnic areas, a swimming beach, clean restrooms and events. We went for the annual Mariachi Festival and had a good time. It's a nice peaceful and pretty place for a day trip or weekend - tucked away in... More

We are campers but had never been here because we are not desert campers. But we purchased a new tailor and decided to go here since several of our friends had mentioned this was a new place to go camping. We booked on line and select space 5. This space is on a hill where all the other spaces are... More

Clean campgrounds with hookups or just dry camping. We would definitely stay here if we were in the area....probably 100 campsites.

Nestled beautifully in between Nogales and Patagonia along Hwy 82, Patagonia Lake State Park truly is an Oasis in the Desert. With ample camping sites and amenities, you are in for a treat. The State Park staff is pleasant. There are boat rentals available. And the lake is large enough for both boaters and fishermen/ women to enjoy. Bring lots... More

Love this campground. All sites have water and electricity. It can get very busy as a result. Nice lake with a beach. Good bathrooms and showers. The lake has a significant wake free zone and it is ideal for kayaks and canoes. The birding is great as well as the park staff who offer walking tours. We got to see... More

This park offers swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking and camping. There's a marina store for your fishing needs and a whole lot of fun for the family. I think they may rent kayaks too. Gorgeous views of the area and great for birders and other wildlife watching. They have campsites and RV areas too. It is close to the Mexican border,... More
