This portion of Route 66 makes you appreciate newer automobiles that are reliable and air-conditioned. The views of the desert are nothing if not spectacular. This is a GREAT driving road. Pull over, stop and gaze in wonder at the beautiful countryside

What can I say - the road from Topock to kingman through Oatman is some of the best motorcycling (or car driving) you will ever do. Great road, great scenery, great mountains

There is nothing here but a view, but what a view it is. Pull off and park is good location, out of road way. Then a short walk to a powerful vista. You can see forever on a clear day, and what a sunset..

This portion of RT 66 is absolutely gorgeous and has a few stopping points to take some great photos. Make sure to drive very slowly as there are no guardrails and the road is on the edge of a cliff in many parts.

Watch out for donkeys. Also, plan better than we did, and drive this hairpin winding road during the daytime. We definitely want to go back. If we had only realized that the hotel in Oatman is not a hotel, only a restaurant, we would not...More

Drove from Kingman to Oatman. The views are so amazing. It's a winding road with no guardrails, so don't try to break any speed records. Views are awesome from every turn.

From Kingman to Oatman you drive on the edges with very few barriers so I was constantly gasping going around corners! My husband said the next time we do something like this he's putting blinders on me! I will say though the views are spectacular!...More

Another great drive in kingman. Lots of picture ops. Saw great rock formations and even wild burrows. Bring imagination with you and you can go back in time and feel what it might have been like to travel this way so long ago from the...More

The view from Kingman in the morning is stunning. It also puts the sun behind you for better photo ops.

am going from Las Vegas to the Grand Canyon, leaving early am on 4-3. Planning to come back down to stay overnight at Kingman, then up early am on 4-4 back to Vegas, to arrive at McCarren Airport by 1pm for flight back to Texas. Is any way to go through the Pass, from Kingman and arrive at Airport by 1 pm, or is somewhere else could stay overnight between Kingman and Vegas in order to go via the pass? My family drove Rte 66 in 1953, from St. Louis to Albuquerque, when we moved there from Charleston W.V.! I Loved the motels along the way!! Actually have driven 66 from Albuquerque to Calif as well. It may sound crazy, but many times I miss much of those years, the 50's & 60's, was a teen ager, and life was so much calmer, less stress, slower, more polite, respect, considerate, joyful!

If you make your trip from Kingman and go over the pass, it means you are going to go through Oatman and you will want to stop there. However if you just pass through Oatman and go down to 95 business through Bullhead to 163... More
I will be starting from Sun City Arizona and want to end up at the Grand Canyon. Not sure how to get there going through Sitgreaves pass and Route 66.

I am unsure of where you are headed for in the Grand Canyon, but Oatman appears to be out of the way as Oatman is halfway between Kingman and the CA border. From the Grand Canyon you could head south toward I-40 and... More
